Some guy literally just whispered me “Then go to retail you pepega”. Seriously? I expect to be told go to retail every once and a while but I choose Stalagg just to not run into stuff like this and I still do?
I want to say that someone made a Twitch addon for Twitch emotes. Maybe that was just someone being funny. I don’t know for sure, but it honestly would not surprise me.
I had to ignore a former guildie who would say “pog” or “poggers” after just about every statement. It’s obnoxious.
What’s a Twitch and what’s a Twitch emote? I try to keep up on current slang.
No different than saying “lol” outside the internet. Twitch emotes are modern day hieroglyphs.
Because Millennials.
Because Zoomers.
Because desperate to fit in with faceless nerd-strangers in Very Online World™.
Just respond “Ayaya” to every thing they say. They will learn their lesson.
Most of the people playing WoW today are involved in the Twitch community. Thats basically all. If you do have a problem with them, just put them on ignore… Easy solution!
I guess im too old, i dont understand that stuff either!
I’m only 44 but I feel like a senior citizen sometimes. I used to be with it. I don’t know what happened.
I think at that age you’re supposed to be using their slang but using it incorrectly to try to annoy them as much as possible.
autism is a real disease
Twitch emotes have pretty much infested the entire internet. At least every part of the internet that pertains to gaming. There is no escaping it unfortunately.
This post only makes sense if you feel the same way about “lol” or “gtg” or any and every other online slang. Twitch emotes are the same thing; an expression of a specific feeling or meaning. That’s really it.
I have no idea what any of this slang in this thread means
You ever heard the story about the dad who stopped his son from using Twitch and stuff because he was only talking in Twitch speak?
It was on my local radio station let me see if I can find it.
My son (14) watches a lot of video game streamers on Twitch. tv. I personally don’t find them entertaining but I can understand why some people (like my son) do. Over the past month he’s starting using terms like “pog”, “jabaited”, and “Kappa” which I guess are terms that are used in the scope of Twitch. I don’t have an issue with my son using these terms but it’s gotten to the point where every sentence is Twitchspeak. We were having dinner and my daughter (age 12) was talking about how she got accepted for a summer program with the local animal shelter, and my son said “Pog you, easy clap”. I told him that it was getting out of hand and that he would have to communicate normally to his parents and family. To that he said “Weird champ, feels weird man, normies omega LOL.” Until he learns to communicate like a normal human being I’ve blacklisted Twitch from the internet for the time being. He’s hysterical now but I told him that I would unblacklist it if he stopped using twitchspeak, but he’s refusing to stop so for now it’s banned. AITA?
