I was spamming m+ and m0s yesterday on my alt (also a Prot pally) and it was like trying to get groups as a DPS. Tanks errywhere.
In m+ Ive ran into waaay more arrrogant tanks than dps.
Most the toxicity i see towards tanks is in pug raiding
I’ve seen every role harshly treated. No class or spec is beyond a rebuff if performing poorly.
When I was brand new to tanking I actually studied it. I was worried about letting people down. It was a tough time in my WoW career because I whole heartedly had no idea how a tank functioned. I also took for granted the pathing.
I’m now someone who can play pretty much every class and spec.
If people do not put in effort to fulfill their role, then they are just inviting negativity. Not condoning it but there are peoole out there who have never even played the role enough to have empathy for the situation. And to make matters worse you have veterans out there who have, and including myself that just don’t want to put up with someone who is still learning.
Its definetly a challenge to dig back 10 years of our life to remember how we were actual noobs and sympathize with it on the fly.
You obviously haven’t done many Mythic Plus groups and cannot speak from experience if you just stated you switch your spec to tanking and take over lol.
No, there is a lack of tanks in Mythic Plus for pugs. This guy has no idea what he is even talking about.
You were spamming 0’s right before the next expansion where everyone is gearing their Blood DK lol. Of course that would be the situation. Mythic Plus tank shortages is really noticeable starting at Mythic Plus keys 10+ where there is the Awakened Affix.
Yeah I dont pug mythics plus dungeons so I wouldent need to switch
But the op was talking about tanks as a hole so considering my second main is a tank I actually have all the right to speak on this post
And I have enough experience with leveling,dungeons,mythics,raids and pvp to be able to speak on how toxic players can be
So if u wanna talk about mythic experiences I use to run with a guild who treated healers and tanks so poorly the guild couldent keep mythic support

I have pugged raids where iv seen guildies turn on there own support
So why are you speaking on your experience of how tanks are treated, when you haven’t even experienced one of the most toxic forms of end game play for tanks, which is tanking Mythic Plus pugs.
Feel like tanks are only ‘treated poorly’ in LFG and LFR type pugs.
In which case it actually makes sense. Would you prefer to afk an additional 5-10 minutes, merrily watching YouTube videos or trolling in trade, for a blazing fast tank who gets the dungeon done ASAP?
Or would you prefer to get in that group faster - but the tank is so slow the dungeon takes 15 minutes longer than it should?
There are other options besides these of course - but if I had to pick between the two, I’d go for Option 1.
Of course, because if it was also guilds that treated tanks like that, then that would be considered guild drama and tanks would probably find another guild, just like how they leave pugs and find another group.
And tanking raids =)
I play with a group of friends and they decided that I was going to tank next expansion. I think I need a better group of friends myself…
Tanking raids is not nearly as toxic for tanks since there is no timer, routes (with awakened affix), and pulls needed in order to beat the clock and increase players IO scores, or loot drop %.
You are kidding me right lmao ur just proving a point that they get treated worse then what I have pointed out
You even stated that you never tanked pugs in Mythic Plus, so you are the one kidding yourself because you don’t have the experience to even compare the two. 
You dont have to be the recipient of toxic attitude to see toxic attitude. You can witness tanks being treated like trash without being the tank.
Yes, you can really witness all the whispers that they get for tanking pugs.

People are jerks in this game. I’ve done lots of dungeons and pugs and overall saw whatta pile of crap the player base is.
They project their faults onto the important dude or dudette of the group.
I’ve had multiple times sitting in a group, 120 while others were leveling, having a group lead causing bigger issues than necessary when I could of easily carried them.
People just are messed up.

Nah, recruiting a tank is pretty easy. Recruiting the right tank can be a challenge, but the same can be said for any position.
