Why do people think we didn't speak in 2004?

How come I’ve seen 1000 posts on “twitch/discord will ruin everything” ban lfg, ban that… .I’m am literally confused as to people not knowing we had ventrilo, and we could talk to anyone, whenever we wanted thru forums, creating another character, so many options… WHY are people so adamant we had no way to talk to each other? I just used my beeper when I got mad, still waiting on a call back. Damn ganker ganking gank gank beep me back.

Because it was the Dark Ages when we still used Ventrillo.

Because people today dont know how to socialize with people so they think we didnt know how to talk to people in 2004.

All of those are still superior to the in-game voice chat.

Everyone knows vanilla WoW was pre-Internet.

because only British intelligence had this sort of tech…

I can somewhat see what they’re getting at.

Back in 2004 our guild had some epic exchanges in guild chat, you remember, then green text in the bottom left? Vent and TS were great for their purpose but most people just chatted with the green text.

Fast forward to 2019. My recent guild in BFA barely says two words in guild chat. Everyone is squared away on Discord into neat little groups and the epic conversations of yore now consist of listening to Bob eat Doritos in my ear and Jimmy clacking away on his Razer, green-switch keyboard while he clears his throat every fifteen seconds.

I can still hear the incessant “bee-doop” of Ventrillo from that ONE PERSON who always bound their PTT key to something they had bound in game and were constantly keying up the whole raid.

Could you list those 1000 posts so I can review them and give you my analysis?

But great… there was nothing cooler than it being 2 am, almost ding level 50, and hearing some random noise that scared that heck out of you… wow in-game voice chat was a prodigy…

Don’t even talk about that ventrollo

All that hours of thinking about explanations to not use it - only to hide the fact that my Internet was so slow so it couldn’t handle ventrollo.
