Why do people think hunters are mindless?

the easiest dps spec in the game to ME is ret. i have 11/12 classes at 120. only missing mage. but mine is at 100 so he has all his talents.

frost mage

they’re all significantly easier than the hunter specs. also MM is a lot easier to ME than BM is. SV being the most challenging hunter spec to me.

the only specs that really seem more involved are things like feral, shadow, demo, unh… sometimes aff depending on talents.

“Every weapon is a Hunter Weapon” may have played a part in the creation of that view.

hunters can’t ninja that way anymore. :stuck_out_tongue:

though i see people saying how easy hunter is but it’s really not. especially not if you control your pet instead of just letting it do what it wants. lol.

In all honesty when I played a BM hunter for a couple months in Legion, it was the most relaxing experience ever. Didn’t have to focus on too much, could pretty easily mindlessly DPS in most places. Survival and MM are probably much different in that regard, but BM is very easy to play.

have you played since legion, with barbed shot? if you don’t play that properly you’re doing crappy dps.

Fair enough, I have not. Maybe BM hunters are different nowadays.

Nothing easier that Havoc DH tbh.

i kinda hate my dh. he’s at 120 but i almost never play him. that may be even easier than ret though. lol.

I don’t know about every hunter, but every hunters pet has had at least half it’s brain removed.

it goes all the way back to vanilla wow and the pre-expansion days. back then hunters were absolutely the easiest class to play. you had a tank to keep enemies off of you while you shot at them, and you had a wide selection of tools to survive/escape what you couldn’t kill. combined with wearing mail armor and thus not being totally squishy, hunters were the go-to class for anyone new to mmo’s or fantasy games in general.

you had good survivability compared to cloth and leather classes, and you killed stuff more quickly than the heal-based classes like priest or pally or druid. hunters were a balanced all-rounder and the most efficient solo class in the game. they were easy to play adequately but the truly good ones were rare.

The experiences I’ve had with hunters have led me to believe the majority of them fit a stereotype.

  1. Non-stop jumping.
  2. Loot hoovers.
  3. Impatient (skipping quest dialogue and, “helping,” by pulling adds)
  4. Oblivious to mechanics.
  5. Obsessed with Recount/Details
  6. Oblivious to managing pet. “He does what he wants!”

They gain so much DPS from such small amounts of gear. It’s crazy.

This is just from my experience. It doesn’t mean EVERY hunter is like this.

i am not that great at hunter but all of my in game best friends are all hunter mains and they are GOOD GOOD GOOD GOOD GOOD hunters. i try to learn as much as i can from them. some do raids. some pvp. some are BM, some are MM. doing it well isn’t that easy. especially compared to like ret or something especially.

Notice how all of those specs you listed have the same flavour.

oh man i’d forgot that comic, lol, thank you i needed that today

The Class isn’t mindless. The behavior of some Hunters is what is mindless.
