Just because its legal age doesn’t mean grooming can’t still happen. Speaking from experience. I mean don’t tell me you knew what you know now about people at age 18

Yeah, nah. A 16 year old may be ‘legal’, but they don’t have the cognitive and emotional maturity to be making a decision like that.
And in all seriousness - WTF does a 16yo and a 60yo have in common to even have a conversation? They’re at totally different stages in life. That’s not a partnership of equals on any level.

i think some (not all) folks are rejecting those couples cause they have women in them. i’ve seen folks wanting anduin/greymane, and anduin/wrathion so… who knows. (also, isn’t jaina like… anduin’s aunt?.. eugh…)
in all honesty, the age-gap isn’t the issue, it’s more who the characters are, not their age that’s making folks reject those pairings.
and it’s not a gender thing, it’s more folks just figuring anduin was into his dragon-buddy, or his pseudo-wolfdad, rather than his pseudo-aunt, and a random elf woman he has no chemistry with.
I don’t agree with this because at that age you can influence people with power/experience/money/status. They’re still easily impressionable because of a lack of life experience.
Maybe it’s different in other countries, but I come from a pretty sheltered/privileged community. I also come at this with some personal experience. I got hit up by guys in their 30s who get off that sort of power dynamic because people in their age range don’t find them attractive. I caught on early, but I got friends who got abused in the process and regret it till this day. There’s one who is still stuck and we don’t know what’s going on anymore.

Long as they are of legal age, it is okay.
Even if they not, you have plenty of time to watch over there like an Older Sister and get to know that specific Apprentice Frost Mage much better.

I don’t think a gap like that in the world of Azeroth should really matter. There’s a lot of races in game that live way longer than others, so and elf and human I don’t think is very weird. I ship Anduin/Sylvanas and I don’t really see the issue with the age gap of them for that. The only thing I can see people getting a fuss over is that shes undead, though to be fair in Pandaria there was a Hozen, Riko ended up loving an undead named Kiryn.
Just IMO, the issue I have with the idea of those two ships is that they’ve known Anduin since he was at least a child. Jaina might have known him since he was a literal infant. And Anduin calls Jaina his aunty; that makes it pretty obvious he considers her family and not a romantic possibility.
Anduin also said he wanted to marry for love and not for the sake of marrying when Genn offered Tess to him as his bride.
You’re not talking about “grooming”. Grooming is when an adult takes a pre-teen or a teen and starts being REAL friendly with them to influence them later.
You’re talking about a different type of power dynamic which I cannot remember the name for right now (I’ve heard it before, but psychology isn’t my forte).
Keep in mind there ARE younger people that are just attracted to older people with intelligence, influence, and/or money (and not just because they are a “gold digger” but because they want to be part of that lifestyle. There IS a difference.)
You’d be surprised by what I knew. My first sexual experience was at 16, with a 36-year-old. We both knew what we did would get us in trouble (mostly the other person, being older). I wasn’t groomed. I knew full well what we were doing. It only happened that one time, we remained friendly afterward, and we both moved on.
Three years later I met my spouse and we’ve been together ever since. That “incident” just remains a sweet memory from my days before my current relationship. No scars, no baggage.

You’re the exception, not the rule. I’d never trust someone who sleeps with a 16 year old in his 30s.

My situation happened 30 years ago. Do you actually think kids know LESS than I did at that age?
I’m confident they actually know MORE than I did at 16.

idk to me as long as they are maybe 24-25+ fine. im 27 i wouldn’t date much women younger then 24. why? because 18 although legally an adult in the US still immature. 21 i feel is immature too because that is the drinking age and now the smoking age depending on your state. so you figure people still going to school trying to figure out wth they want to do in life at 21 so a few years down the road maybe they will be more mature and know what they want out of life.
doesn’t need to be set in stone obviously but why would i waste my time with a girl who doesn’t know what she wants even in a relationship? been there done that many times it’s just a waste of my time.

ive heard/read in a few places that an age gap can be beneficial, so long as both are of legal age whats the biggie what people choose to do?

You assumed an older GUY is always the culprit. Bet if it was an older woman with a younger guy, you wouldn’t bat an eye.
Realistically this is a modern phenomenon. If you look back into history, there’s actually a lot of instances of larger age gaps, most for financial reasons.

Most adults that are 30 and above, dating those under 19 are called a certain name and it is not good.
