Just wondering? World of Warcraft is cartoon violence doesn’t really count.
cathartic when as a violent species we cant destroy those who annoy us at work. A stress relief I suppose
I don’t really know how to answer this question. Some of the violent video games I play have beautiful storytelling, while if I were to play some game let’s say Genshin Impact for example, then it doesn’t really appeal to me. I don’t play violent video games because I am crazy or anything, but I don’t know. I just play whatever looks entertaining. tough question you have there though, I am curious about some of these responses.
911 I would like to report a very suspect individual. He might end up killing his coworkers.
Psh as if. I like being a free man who makes about 1k a week and I like my co-workers. Its management that needs fixing with making us work 6 days a week 10 hours minimum…most days go 12-16 hours…
Cuz it’s a nice release for violent tendises for some people
Or it’s just fun.
Some People just want gore like making goons head asplode
Beating a man buried up to his neck in the ground to death with a shovel isn’t cartoon violence.
Go on a murder spree in Whiterun killing every single person until the only ones left are the immortal people then load a save where everyone is all and well… just so you can kill them all again and again.
Really? I never have violent tendencies when playing violent video games.
That could be literally anyone who works at a company.
If you want like a psychological answer it would likely boil down to power & control. Something a majority of people don’t have today.
Idk I don’t hear my coworkers mention destroying other coworkers
Man, bro, why you tryna release me?
People like to do things they cant do in the real world, and pwning noobs and monsters in a vrtual world mmo setting is fun. People can vent all their real world frustrations and have a win of sorts, that may not be possible in their real lives.
I don’t see video game violence is that “violent” I have played games like call of duty and such, to me it’s just pixels on a screen
Have you never had a coworker who does nothing but complain about how no one does work yet always needs someone to cover their work because they’ve fallen so far behind? Cuz if not i freaking envy you.
I’ve had plenty, but I don’t go play Halo/CoD and picture them in everybody I kill
Because we cant get violent with people IRL that we dont get along with.
That be me.
The target demographic for most video games is adolescent males, who typically (and biologically) are more aggressive at that period on their lives. Since they cannot do it in real life, it’s a great way to work through those hormones until they level out as adults.
That is for games like Call of Duty, Fortnite, etc. As for why people like violent MONSTER games, it’s because killing monsters is fun, duh.
