Why do people hate Baine?

He’s literally the last surviving horde legacy character who hasn’t had his character completely altered over time.

he was garbage from the start, so, yeah, he stayed garbage.

Combination of him not being Cairne and him being willing to work with the Alliance to not subject his people to open war, which is apparently a bad quality in a leader or something.

Explain please?

as usual, only alliance players defend him. 10 years of same repeated forum dialogue.

You could do something different and answer the OP’s question for you.

You know some people play both sides, right? It’s not one or the other.

Because he’s a traitor, a coward and an Alliance sympathiser who aided in an Alliance coup against the Horde.

So basically he’s hated for SoO in the panda expansion that most boomers hate?

Despite the popular belief that it’s because he’s not “blood thirsty enough” or “Garrosh and/or Sylvanas fanbois”, there is legit reasons people don’t like him.

  • He allowed his father’s murderer to get off with a warning.
  • The same person that murderered his father also sacked Bloodhoof Village and Thunder Bluff, killing many tauren. Was let go with a pat on the head.
  • He called his own people and victims of Camp Taurajo “valid military targets.”
  • In response to Camp Taurajo being destroyed, he exiled any tauren wanting revenge.
  • Also in response to Camp Taurajo being destroyed by gryphon riders, he built a wall, showing the Horde what a complete idiot he is.
  • The revenge for Camp Taurajo was carried out by orcs just down the road from Mulgore. Instead of exiling his people, he could have sent them there. Again, showing the Horde he’s a complete idiot.
  • During the Seige of Lordaeron, he stood by and watched Sylvanas plague his people. Even Anduin said “damn son, she’s killing her own people.” Baine just watched and drooled.
  • Baine killed the Forsaken to rescue Derek Proudmoore, calling him Forsaken. Again, he’s an idiot because being undead =/= Forsaken.
  • He returned Derek Proudmoore to Jaina, which would have been fine, if Jaina didn’t point out that Sylvanas will get revenge on Thunder Bluff for doing this. Baine’s response? “I know.” He picked one enemy’s life over the life of his own people.
  • He’s been captured like 4 times. How many more times are we going to have to save him?
  • During the Siege Orgrimmar 2.0, he was too butt hurt to show up. However, as soon as the smoke from Saurfang’s corpse cleared, he magically healed and stood behind Anduin. Again, drooling.
  • He turned the vulpera away and told them they couldn’t join the Horde. Then they did a bunch of chores for him so he said “well alright then.” Can we please get a new recruitment officer?
  • He sat in a corner of Oribos for 2 years.
  • He told Queen Talanji, during her father’s funeral, that she and the Horde should surrender to the Alliance, the people that just killed said father.
  • He’s constantly squawking about making peace, working with the enemy, but when it comes to himself, it’s perfectly fine to go derp-herp rage Wrath of Khan when it suits him.

Nope because SoO was a civil war that the Alliance interfered in and we’re anything but allies of the Horde during.

This is why.

That’s some bad beef.

Yup and if it was a “Valid military target” then so was Teldrassil spoilers it wasn’t.

He turned them away cause he’s an awful leader who couldn’t deal with any of the Hordes problems and didn’t want more problems to deal with so the Vulpera literally went and did his job solving all the problems.

Cause he ain’t his daddy.

The fact that his character hasn’t been altered is kind of the problem since, well…

The writers seem to want us to think he’s the thoughtful and patient horde leader but a lot of his stuff comes across as being weak and indecisive. This combined with him not really having any “I’m a badass” moments doesn’t exactly sell people on him being the kind of character most of us can rally behind.

When they tried to give him a “badass moment”, it came out as hilarious instead of awesome.

“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO”

The moment was so emotional that I thought he just found out Padme died

Technically wrong. Cairne is the legacy tauren leader.

Baine was the first downgrade.

Mostly that he isn’t Cairne. But also everything Tovi said.
