Rogues yes, but a dps warrior who wants DFT needs to get their head checked. It’d be as wasteful as giving it to a hunter. If a guild has a dedicated cat or a reliable feral tank, I’d hand that one person this trinket before spreading it to rogues.
Because players are loot gobblins, and any excuse they can provide to put themselves ahead of you is what most will do.
There’s a lot you don’t understand about warriors apparently.
For tanks, DFT helps with itemization. A lot of the best mitigation pieces have no hit. Especially heading into Naxx where that’s going to be an issue, its useful for a tank to have the 2% hit, thus allowing him to swap around pieces more efficiently without dropping below 6%.
For Dps warriors, BB is never ever better than DFT. Even if you dont value HIT at all (and its always worth something) 28str is worth waaaaay more than 2% crit. And if you’re world buffed, you’re probably pushing the crit cap. In which case, not only do you not need the 2% crit, but the 2% hit becomes valuable as it increases your crit cap ceiling, effectively “unlocking” any underutilized crit.
All that said, I’d still rather see it got to a dedicated druid than a warrior who may flake, but pretending like its ever inferior to BB or will be quickly replaced is just plain wrong.
Just get like 15 of them and give it to hunters and druids like we did.
Honestly this, rather see stuff go to people that show up consistently and not dont really care if it isn’t optimal raid parsing for the class. Let druids and hunters have them if they put in the time.
Literally no warrior is at the point where they’re able to reduce it entirely. White hits are still 20% of even the best geared warriors damage, and a good % of those still miss.
I still think that DFT should be dual wield prio because dual wielders have to deal with the additional dual wield miss penalty that pure tanks and feral DPS don’t, and the fact that far more feral DPS is from yellow not white hits.
People have to consider an item’s overall stat profile and people shouldn’t say DFT should be just be tank prio just because it has 2% hit and 1% dodge while completely ignoring the fact that the 56 attack power is one of the things that makes it so special. It’s phase 5 and there is plenty of tank hit gear out now in AQ.
My rogue has DFT already and I’ve been lucky to see quite a few drop(about 11 or so) and I’d much rather see a feral druid get it than an enhancement shaman or ret paladin.
Queing up heroic strike removes the miss penalty for your off hand white swing as it counts the MH/OH weapon swing sequence as a special. This is why HS queing contradicts the first principle of going over yellow hit cap to extend white hit crit cap.
Easier for Horde as WF produces alot more rage, for more steady HS spam.
No I understand how HS queueing works… lol. But in practice, it just doesn’t work like that. In fact, the consensus seems to generally be that queueing isn’t even worth it overall and is more detrimental than beneficial. Look at literally any warriors logs. White hits will always be at least 20% of their total damage, and a sizeable % of those will be misses. You can’t queue all the time reliably, particularly during execcute phase.
DFT is perfectly fine for a feral druid
it doesnt. its just not optimal. it is 100% a better decision for the guild to give dft to a warrior or rogue, every time. giving dft to a feral druid is like giving gem of rejuvenation to a warrior for his flask set. its terribly unoptimal, and it lowers your overall guild potential if you choose to do it.
DFT can’t be quantified to a Fury/Prot the same way as a straight Fury warrior, since it allows a lot more freedom and insurance in gear arrangements.
at the end of the day, youre not in a 0.1% speed running guild, and any marginal dps upgrade doesnt matter for your team and wont shave off time off your raid which better play wouldnt.
so please, feel free to waste loot on the rogues and warriors who plan on deleting the item 3months from now.
instead of making the raid happy and share the loot equally.
or since youre all 0.1%ers playing your hearts out… youre all doing raid splits right? EVERYONE has dft and all the best loot and you guys only meet once a month for DMF speed run week??? RIGHT???
any raid NOT doing splits is just full of greedy loot goblins. you dont care about creating the best possible performing raid, youre just in it for yourselves.
While yes, you are right but we have a bunch of man children foaming at the mouth because of the possibility of a multi role class like druid getting loot over them and their rhetoric is, “B-BUT THE SIMS SAY DFT IS BETTER ON ME! YOU’RE HURTING THE RAID! NOOO!”
LMAO these aren’t even close to the same, not even in the same galaxy, you’re delusional.
It’s just an attack power trinket for Warriors when you have all the hit you need from heroic strike queueing.

LMAO these aren’t even close to the same, not even in the same galaxy , you’re delusional
im not delusional, youre delusional
I’m either going to be wearing Boots of the Shadow Flame or Truestrike shoulders until TBC because I just can’t lose the 2% hit. I think it’s worth a bit more than 10-25 dps? The item itself might not be great compared to other trinkets (if you have the option), but it’s more about what it allows you to equip in other slots.
Boots of the Shadow Flame
22 Stam
44 AP
2% Hit
Boots of the Vanguard
22 Str (48 AP)
22 Agi (22 AP, 1.1% crit
11 Stam
Or
Truestrike
24 AP
2% Hit
Mantle of Wicked Revenge
16 Str (35 AP)
30 Agi (1.5% Crit)
14 Stam
I’ve only seen Boots of the Vanguard drop 1 time when running AQ20 on an alt and only 1 pair of Mantle of Wicked Revenge. I’m currently running a no hit necklace and a no hit ring, I can replace them with hit pieces but that only covers the deficit of one 2% hit item. Either that or I drop Gloves of Enforcement to don the old Devilsaur and try to get Cloak of Concentrated Hatred.
Because you’d never out dps my rogue. The only reason I’d be ok with a feral going first is if they’re a tank. Kitties just take gear from pure dps like rogue and warrior. There are extremely good kitties out there but they are few and far between. So it’s very frustrating to watch someone get gear that will never be able to keep up with me in dps. Especially when I don’t think they should have a spot to begin with.
DFT is BiS for the hardest boss in the game… The Attendance Boss…
