Why do people feel they have to be objectively right to like or dislike something?

Saying that I do like something is not an attack on those who don’t.

Yet somehow that Tauren flirt about “liking the ladies” turned into Homophobic slander or something.

Of course, it just needs to go both ways :stuck_out_tongue: liking a bad game is fine, but if numbers show that the majority of users found the game had major issues i’ll definitely get annoyed at those who like the game saying there are no issues. Some game designs are outright not user friendly no matter how you spin it:joy:

Personally i find the FF13 trilogy to be some of the best story ever told in a video game, but i know i’m in the minority when it comes to final fantasy fans :frowning:

I thought that said Chocolate and moldy bread.

I was concerned for a minute.

I mean, I get what you’re saying and I’m not trying to argue with you, but if those issues aren’t issues to them then why do they need to be issues to them? If those two weirdos are totally fine with some part of their terrible game that everyone else sees as a problem why do we have to prove to them that it’s a problem?

If it’s some bug or something that’s clearly breaking the game and they’re saying there is no bug that’s one thing, but if it’s just about them somehow liking content that everyone else doesn’t like I don’t see a need for them to admit they’re wrong for liking it, if that makes any sense.

Around here, a lot of people don’t seem to know what objective means. Seems like more times than not people mistake their opinions for facts.

Probably because they are annoying and insufferable people

I just read all of the posts in this thread so far. I can definitely say a lot of people didn’t even read the OP. So many people putting words in the OP’s mouth.

The only time I get defensive is when I feel like what they want directly endangers my content.

I wouldn’t care about people disliking broccoli if too much crying didn’t lead to devs reducing the overall broccoli in the game or worst case removing it.

Objective refers to what the facts of something. For instance, it is an objective fact that price of gas is topping $5 per gallon in some places. The subjective opinion is that is too much to pay for gas.

Likes and dislikes are subjective by definition. Have a nice night/morning.

You’re entitled to your very very wrong opinion.

depends on whether what you like or dislike affects me… what are you specifically thinking about with topic anyway? or just in general?

It’s really honestly depressing to see the first 10ish or so comments not immediately getting the point of this honestly simple thread.

It’s something that quite frankly, i’m on board with, because there’s nothing wrong with liking something what somebody else hates, or hating what somebody else likes and they don’t need objectivity to prove themselves right because, lets face it, these are just subjective opinions. :man_shrugging:

I find 9.2 to be okay to me so far. Nothing terrible, nothing spectacular, just okay.

Oh don’t get me started on those people i’ve encountered that want to goad time and money out of you just because you simply disliked the game you tried, that they like. “bUt iT gEt BeTtEr 100 hOuR’s lAtEr”… It’s like they don’t even understand what reviews are for.

…Says the person who cared enough to post on a topic they claim to not care about.

Because some people are looking for a fight. And that’s really all it is.

The ones that puzzle me a bit are the folks who almost seem like they are recruiting others to the I hate this and am quitting position.

Isn’t this subjective tho? Liking and disliking is subjective. Not tryna be rude but if we actually do look objectively, this is a pretty bad time for wow rn.

Poison has never stopped us from eating things we shouldn’t.

Yes, and that’s exactly the point. It’s subjective, but people will tell you that you are objectively wrong for your subjective opinion.
