They need to add a, “I’ve heard this tale.” thing again
Weird. 4th time not letting him talk and I haven’t had any issues.
An hour of sitting around while Jaina paces and expositions, getting Thrall multiple weapons, sneaking in stealth zones that make you hold back and wait even if no enemies are crossing or there’s a clear path, having to go back and start running to the next area with the group again because you tried to just go to the end point and wait for the NPCs to catch up BUT NO, you have to stay with them the whole time while they chit-chat about what the Jailer is up to or their pathing resets entirely…
No, that’s way, way too long. It’s a nonsense amount of time to have to repeat for every single new character when all it does is move you from your capital city to Oribos.
You just described about 3 minutes of that hour but okay.
Oh I’m sorry, should I go back and type out every piece of quest text and action? Here you go. If you need to be reminded of how long and tedious it is, here’s the whole thing with all the combat cut out, and it’s still thirty five minutes long.
You can rewatch it at your leisure, knock yourself out.
I don’t need to watch, I literally just played through it before making this thread and it was super fast. 51 minutes from start to finish on my warlock in BFA leveling greens. Combat is almost nonexistent and you can skip every cutscene and dialog except the part with the helm at the beginning, and Jaina’s speech in the cave. Those two together are maybe 4 minutes total… out of 51 minutes. Hardly long or tedious.
Did people completely forget Hellfire Peninsula? Vashj’ir/Hyjal? Jade Forest? Tanaan Jungle? I’d rather do the maw intro 10 times than do any of those. I know you don’t have to do them anymore, but back when the expansions were current, you couldn’t skip them. The expansion has been out a month and people are crying about a 50-minute intro even though you can skip everything else entirely.
Other than the ‘click Jaina so she keeps spouting exposition before they’ll let you have the next quest’, THAT was the part that annoyed me the most. Three different characters they caused the invisibility spell to fail and Anduin had to whip out heals before she turned it on again >_<
It wasn’t a problem on my first character. It wasn’t a problem on my 5th character. I’ve done it over a dozen times now and it’s starting to give me a twitch. I still prefer this over the legion one I guess though.
I’m sure I have way more characters than you. I did old leveling quests many times. They didn’t get boring until devs removed all sense of progression from them with level scaling.
If you were bored out of your mind before, I can’t imagine why you think bland, tedious, and homogenized content is superior to what we had before.
lol are you serious? The Jade Forest intro was so boring I couldn’t stand doing it on my second character. Level scaling was great because it let me skip Pandaland entirely.
Define “bland, tedious and homogenized”.
Oh believe me, I still harbor bad thoughts for the intro to WoD. SO tedious. In this, the Year of Our Lord 2020, though, there’s really no need for an unskippable sloggy introduction.
First time through, fantastic. Loved it. But when I can easily replay the whole scenario through my head its beyond repetitive and boring.
Its like having read a good book. Best to not revisit it until one has had a decent break.
Even at 51 minutes, it’s 51 minutes of a heavily scripted storyline event that I’ve already completed.
When I’m wanting to level an alt I just wanna get on with it.
For me what makes it worse is that the maw intro gates you off from training shadowlands professions, so even if I just want access to the basic crafting, it still forces me to play through the scenario.
Why do people complain about people complaining
Because it’s a valid complaint.
No not really.
Thrall, the choosing beggar… I need a free weapon, but it has to be perfect.
WoD was incredibly fast for an intro though. You’re looking at 20 min max, with not a lot of waiting, with your mounts available, and with skippable chatter. It’s miles ahead of the maw.
So you are okay with wasting 255 minutes of your life you will never get back repeating trivial, boring content? Sounds like a you problem to me.
wod takes 15-20 and gives 5 levels.
