Because without it, Paladin is broken af (in an OP way).
Like, even I knew it was busted that I could regen mana to full, ‘right click’, and go back to healing. Couple that with Sheath-HoT and…ya. It needs a major negative.
Prot needs a rune that turns bubble into a 50% damage reduction. Give it an increased CD even. Just something so we can mitigate some damage through a CD.
Paladin’s aren’t blizzards favorites for a few months. Paladins in tears and screaming to the sky that they aren’t head and shoulders above everyone else.
Explain to me how that makes it any different? It’s an instant cast, free full power heal empowered by spell power. That’s far better than mana regen over time with a rune that increases healing and adds a weak HoT.
I understand that the idea behind it is to not allow holy paladins to have literal unlimited mana, but at 60 they already do so it’s a really awkward rune for no reason.
No it’s because it’s based off Divine Plea. You see, the creativity for SoD extends primarily to “How do we adapt these things that already fixed the issues with the game?”
