Why do Orcs live in stinky mud huts?

Just a passing thought. Do they ever look at a regular house and think “That looks nice”?

I think sacking Stormwind in WC1 answers that question.

Y’know I asked a orc this very question, he sent me to ask a forsaken for a history lesson regarding both the practical and functional reasons as why the orcs make huts in such a way.

Was something along the lines of ‘because wood is flammable, just ask the night elves.’.

home is more of a feeling than a place, i presume ?

I’d ask Mr. Owl but he didn’t believe me when i told him I crushed 100 gnomes with my thighs. Needless to say he got his proof and won’t be back from the hospital for a few months.

That being said, can’t get more down to earth then a hut.

Zug zug.

Because earthen homes are sustainable and provide excellent temperature moderation at low cost.

Orgrimmar seems more wood and metal architecture than mud.

Your average home in any Human area likely uses mud in their walls for insulation. Look up videos of old style home architecture and how they are made. The use of “mud” isn’t as old as you would think.

That isn’t mud… :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

But… the Forsaken lived in the most stinky place, no? I recall Nathanos commented on it when he got a working nose.

Not sure how Sylvanas handled that.

As for the Orcs…it’s to be more in tune with the elements. :eyes:

They live in mud huts because they are Orcs.
As for the stinky part…
Ever seen a toilet in Azeroth?

There we have it. The orcs of draenor are more civilized because they have outhouses in the garrison.

They are stinky because, well, that’s not mud.

Not touching this one

Yeah, but they’re also made of dirt.

Orcs have a tribal background and only a handful of them could build something worth while to put their backs behind as a barricade let alone live in.

In a world where everything wanted them dead they likely didn’t have the time to be cilivised…regretfully Warcrafts story over time has long forgotten the flavors of our cultural stew and has opted instead to have us ride on the coattails of demi-gods or super heros as they zip from A to B.

Its sad really. There is so much richness and growth to be found in the lore but Blizzard chooses not to use it since most of the fire has gone out of them for this franchise.

So are void elves.

Buddy, you’re a walking steak. You don’t have a leg to stand on when criticizing other races.

I thought we were discussing the advantages and disadvantages of a traditional orc domicile.
