Why do no Ally players use WM?

It seems like a no brainer because the faction imbalance, but there’s like only 2-3 WM ally per TWW zone, and about 15+ Horde.

What would be the point of it? Why would anyone want their RP event ruined by some PVP troll in WM?

there is no benefit to using it.

The Serenity Now catastrophe sealed that deal a long time ago. WM has it’s niches for RP, but the vast majority just want to be left alone.

I always have WM on and know many other Ally players that do as well. Not sure what you mean.

Because getting griefed and camped 8v1 is lame

Because rogues exist and some players do not PvP, like myself, who would rather do well in Mythic+ and raiding.

Too many exploiters in PvP, especially world PvP. Makes it very boring.

The faction imbalance doesn’t prevent Horde from outnumbering people in PVP; my husband (playing Alliance) was doing some of the PVP WQs in TWW zones, only to be ganged up on by a couple of Horde players multiple times. I guess all’s fair in PVP, but it was still thoroughly irritating (especially since I didn’t have a lv80 back then, so I couldn’t help him).

The Silver Covenant was in WM all yesterday evening after RBGs. We hope to run into you on our next expedition into WM! :woman_elf: :sparkles:

Yes!!!

TSC had a wonderful time doing RBGs and WPvP last night. Made lots of unlikely friends and got some new titles and achievements!

It will probably turn into a new semi regular guild activity!

I’m always in warmode, but I am also in a PVP guild. But even when not on my PVP characters. I tend to roll with WM on, honestly I don’t see much horde about… But might also be my playtime. I usually find it very peaceful.

Alliance tends to dominate early season WM, but once everyone gets their gear and bloody tokens they tend to peter out. Horde tends to actually form War Mode ‘groups’ so they take over once individual alliance players filter out after getting their gear. Even in the early season though it’s not like there’s all out brawls. Alliance dominates with uncoordinated numbers until the Horde ‘murderballs’ and groups up. Alliance just waits it out and dominates with numbers again. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

Alliance used to outnumber horde 10-to-1 until Horde started working together to make them earn their crates :man_shrugging:

I honestly just usually forget that it’s an option. God I miss the old days of RPPvP back in Mists of Pandaria. Good times, good times.

I use WM at the beginning of a new expansion in order to level quickly. Beyond that, wpvp hasn’t been fun since vanilla WoW so there’s no point.

Nostalgia is such a cruel mistress.

For the same reason that there’s generally not much in the way of big cutting-edge Mythic raiding guilds on MG despite being a fairly well populated server - it’s not what people are here for, mostly.

It’s like asking why there’s not a lot of professional steer wranglers in New York City. It’s a big city with a dense population, why not steer wranglers? Well, generally people who wrangle steer go to where the cows are.

It’s like asking your D&D party’s wizard to wrestle a bear. That’s generally not what his stat points are in. We’re generally as a population leveled up in storywriting and wordplay, not in twitch PVP reflexes and memorizing counters.

Also for those reasons, dragging people into raid groups from off-server to mow down the relatively “easy pickings” of the roleplay community is like the WoW equivalent of shoving nerds in lockers in a bad 80s movie. People are generally not interested in being cannon fodder in kind of experience and if they do want to do PVP they’ll do it in an instance or a preplanned event like the TOA duels.

Because the chances of getting ganked mid post by a pvper is low, but never zero.

Because WM is never me vs 1 or 2 players in the world. It’s either me not running into a single other person or me vs a large, coordinated pvp group.
