I’m really hype for TBC but can’t figure this one out?
Like why blizz can’t I buy a boost for these toons? Makes no sense to make me play 1-58 on a new race for the expansion…please remove this senseless restriciton

Yeah I’m not a fan of the boost in general but if it’s gonna be in the game it’s pretty silly to not allow the new races to be boosted.
Personally am not a fan of the boosts, but not allowing the boosts to be used on draenei/belves seems to just go against the reason they even added the boosts in the first place.
Why? Nothing about not being able to use it on draenie/belfs prevents someone from using it as intended.
The races available are the wow classic races.
Why does it make sense the TBC races are not available to play during TBC?
It’s wouldn’t, which is why they are
Pretty easy logic to follow. New faction class, new starting zone. They’d rather limit the boost to people who can already level that race and faction in classic wow then give away the farm.
Blizzard wants you to play the belf/space goat starter areas since they “put so much work” into creating them.
I agree that at this point it is pretty ridiculous to not let them go ahead and boost like every other race.
They are nice starting areas compared to the old ones and they take you to about 25ish. And unless you are really set on that alliance shammy or horde pally you can always just boost one of the other races.
Agree, I especially love the belf starter zone. But I’ve done it at least 8 times over the years and I’d rather boost a belf pally.
But they are assumed to be available during prepatch? So why not available at BC Launch for the new new comers.
Anyone leveling will be doing so on “prepatch” so the only idea that makes sense to me is to 2x the boost income by making you boost a lesser option first then letting the feature content become available.
Think they’re worried about fotm rerolls and people spamming B-elfs as retail horde is like 75% elves. People will be less inclined to change mains if they have to do the tedious classic world quests.
Unless you came back to TBC to play one of it’s new races but also don’t enjoy vanilla content. You know someone who specifically came to play TBC i.e who the boost is for.
It does goes against thier narrative as to why there is even a boost. It’s for people who want to not play vanilla but not be behind in TBC but does not apply for the new races that are a selling point of tbc and would be a big part of this “only here for TBC” audience.
I guess it’s ok to skip 1-58 just not the new race starter zones. Don’t skip over those guys! Funny blood elves and draenai are the only players who still have to play through vanilla content kek.
Look at this point I know I’m being a little extra but there is already glaring holes into the reasons for a boost in a game that never had one.
The new race starter zones are a lot better than the old ones, 25~ levels themed specifically for each race so if you came back specifically for that race you should enjoy playing through them
Really the only impact there is people who absolutely have to play an alliance shammy or a horde pally but would prefer to skip 1-58.
I also don’t have an issue if they opened up the boost to all races. Especially since pointing out it’s not available to the new races is usually used as a bad faith argument against boosting in general not as an argument for it being available to them.
Well, for one thing, Space Goat and Belfs will be available in pre-patch.
I have played through those zones. They are nice.
I also think you are underestimating how much people value race choice entirely. You are disregarding the people who want to play those races but aren’t shaman or paladins. Kind of silly to just purposely ignore that. I play a tauren warrior. I had literally every other race to choose, but what if mine was locked behind a restriction for a service meant to bring me back to play to begin with…
Belves are great as non paladins and there are plenty of people who would want to play them.
Draenai priest racial is incredibly powerful and will be one of the most common choice for min/max.
The boost itself doesn’t make much sense and it’s becoming more clear as we get closer to launch that it isn’t for us, or new players it’s simply a way to monetize a game.
Your character name is proof that there are absolutely no GMs anymore.
Nothing personal, you understand.
Like I said if you genuinely want to play a draenie or belf and it’s not for class reasons you’ll probably enjoy the starting zones for those races since they have much nicer starting zones than the old races.
And no the boost isn’t for people who love the leveling experience 1-58, nor however does it prevent them from doing it if they want. And there just aren’t enough genuinely new players coming in for that to be a concern.
I wouldn’t have a problem with them adding the boost for draenie/belf, the only thing I have a problem with is people using it not being available as a bad faith argument against boosting.
Hey I farmed bloodsail hat p1 in classic too! nice hat.
Your name is to close to a vulgar display of affection. Please rehabilitate
Think about it this way. You can’t boost past TBC content.
When TBC was released you had access to all the quest changes, xp changes, etc but not access to the new races starting zone or characters
Seems pretty logical to me. Weird concept to someone who didn’t play the original expansion at launch however so the confusion is understandable.
