Why do low level quests upgrade to epics?

I am level 10 on some junk alt, no looms. I turn in the quest when you first visit west fall and BAM BRAND NEW EPIC CAPE! Like whats the point? I don’t believe the stats bumped up was all +2 and +3, just the name is purple.

Why do low levels need epics? At this point they should just remove the colors, it’s not that epic if everyone has purple especially junk alts now.

I been on a hiatus from wow since December, when did they add this in and why?

Is “Epic” even an official term anymore? You said it, the color of the item name is irrelevant. It’s just a visual identifier to show why your version is slightly better than a regular version.

When? Last patch. Why? To make it uniform. Quest rewards have been able to upgrade since WoD. They wanted to make that an all-the-time thing so it matches.

I was guessing that’s why they did it but for me it didn’t, was like “uh okay.”

Weird times were in with wow, wish it was different.

Yeah it isnt going to change either. Everyone has epics, people who dont raid will always be within 10ilvls of people who do mythic raids blah blah blah.

You have a problem with a random, rare upgrade for lowbie gear that’s just there as a small surprise? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

What’s wrong with it? That piece of gear had a whole +1 extra stats and isn’t making or breaking the game. It’s questing and leveling gear. Some lowbie isn’t getting raid gear, for geebus sake.

It dont think the issue is that it upgraded. Its that its epic. Some old school people dont like it because back in the day epic gear was epic. Now that epic gear is common place its no longer epic.

It’s very clever on Blizzards part. Twinks who want to min/max spend a lot of time trying to get as many epics as possible

That’s fair, but epic hasn’t been epic for years, seems a bit late in the game to start complaining.

Epic stopped being Epic in BC when everyone replaced their raid gear with leveling greens. The color of an item’s name doesn’t matter and everyone just needs to get over it.

Epic gear has been common place since BC. I fail to understand this.

The quality upgrades are fantastic if you’re not leveling with heirlooms. I’m sure new players love it.

Because I think that gear should have a linear progression and shouldn’t randomly upgrade and break that progression.
