I’ve been in 4 different dungeons now where a lock sat there and kept dpsing while a tank was down, forcing the healer to heal through melee tanks on the dps and them being the only one able to rez. This caused a mass wipe that could of been avoided if they had just stopped. Why are you all being selfish?? We’re not getting anywhere when the tank is down the boss is still at 45% health. Soul Stone isn’t just meant for you. I just sat in a dungeon arguing with an affliction lock who told me they don’t have a soul stone and if they did they’re “not using it on anyone” like wth. You going down isn’t the end of the world, tanks down will cause a wipe.

If i had to guess id say it started somewhere about the time that tanks decided they are there for themselves and screw the team…if I had to guess.

as a lock main, it’s because i play this character too much and keep forgetting i can ss when i’m playing my lock
now that i think about it, that soulwell could use some love too

Could add an incentive since it lasts 15 minutes when pre-applied, grants you and your target 2% stamina and 2% main stat while active on another player. This bonus goes up to 5% for 1 minute if used on a downed player.

All locks have soul stone. If they are playing an afflic lock they should know this. I don’t do group content but I do play on my warlock a bunch and when I did do group content I always SS either the tank or the healer. Because without one or the other you will wipe. I agree with you on that OP.

Clearly casting soulstone is a dps loss, the tank should avoid dying in the future.

If the tank goes down at all in dungeons, it’s probably a wipe anyways, so save the brez charge.

I don’t play a loc, but if they put a soulstone on say the healer, are they then allowed to BR someone else?
Only if they are a class that can. Druid or Paladin. I am not sure about other healers except I know priests cannot.
I’m constantly dropping soulwells. I’ve even dropped them mid-fight before. Soulstone comes in handy too. I usually hold it until needed, but I really should be casting it ahead of time.

The Soulstone is actually spectacularly difficult to apply in battle. The cognitive load it requires is actually quite high, and not well practiced.
You have to make sure your target is properly selected, have to make sure that they’re in range, and you have to then sit there through the hard cast to pull it off.
Meanwhile the battle is raging around you, the swirlies are landing on your head, and the adds are rallying.
Finally, you may well be racing some other toon with an instant cast. Unless its agreed upon early that the Warlock is on BRez duty (and nobody talks to anyone, remember), it’s far better for the Warlock to wait and see if someone with an instant rez does the job before they do. That adds to the delay.
I, too, have more than once, is the fray, accidentally applied it to myself. The cast time FEELS enormous, particularly because the circumstances are so dire.
I mean, sure its a shame to have to break the cast of a Chaos Bolt because of something, but it’s not the end of the world. Break the cast of the Soulstone, and the tank is still dead, the party is still getting clobbered. That ticking clock is much more severe than blowing a routine Chaos Bolt.
I’d pay 10g if they could get rid of the cast time, make the cast time instant if someone else was targeted (vs you) or something like that.

The incentive is that you bring someone back to life… Why would we need to add more.
Depending how much the tank pulled before he died by the time the lock gets the SS off 2 more people died during that time, gotta hope the tank can take control of the situation once he’s brez’d too, such a shame SS isn’t instant cast
