Why do Light and Life have power caps

When it comes to beings of light or life, they seem to hit a ceiling when it comes to power, that other forms of magic can surpass. For example, the Arcane Has the Titans, Void has Void lords and Old Gods, Fel has Kil’jaeden and Archimonde, Death has the jailor, however, the top tier beings of light and life, the Naaru and Wild gods, do not seem to be in the same league as the top tier beings of the other cosmic forces.

The Naaru are supposed to be the lights equivalent of old gods, yet old gods are somewhat more powerful than even the most powerful Naaru.

Sporemounds represent very powerful forms of Life surpassing the Wild Gods…

The Light seems to be the only ones with power caps although the Illidan Novel says that if A’dal’s power were to be unleashed it might destroy cities or topple mountains…

Sporemounds may be a bit tougher than a wild god, but they still aren’t Titan level, Old God level, or even Kil’jaeden level of power.

this is a massive assumption as we know naaru can do the same thing as old gods in the audio drama, and also you forgot about elune

(Speculative): This may be more a matter of not having explored other powers adequately yet. For example, we’re about to learn a whole lot more about death, but prior to that, what did they have for powerful beings? Spirit Healers?

Maybe that’s because life in its most primal form can’t be harnessed without giving yourself over to it completely. See the fungal creatures and their quest for mindless, endless growth at the expense of all else. Life unchecked is just as dangerous as death unchecked.

There’s no support for that statement. The Naaru are artifical constructs, why would they be on a par?

Old Gods can force their will upon other beings, not just mortals, but even other gods, like wild gods, as seen when Yogg-Saron Corrupted Ursoc without much direct effort.

The Naaru cannot do this, Lightforging people doesnt remove their free will, and even the Lightforging process can be resisted by less than god level beings like Illidan.

thats where your wrong bucko, seriously read the audio drama

lol and so can old god stuff be resisted,.

I did, in nowhere did I see Xe’ra or any other naaru possess people against their will, let alone effortlessly as the old gods do.

wrathion resisted the old gods, do they suck now?

List of people who resisted the old gods,
the hero
wrathion
deathwing( they told him not to grab the demon soul in the WOTA but he did anyways)
mogu
pandaren
tolvir
anduin.
Aszhara.
Alleria

He was cured of old god corruption by some Titan powered gadget, seeing as how the Titans are far more powerful than an old god, its understandable that he has now a resistance to their corrupting influence.

Again, not many other cosmic powers can boast feats like corrupting a god.

umm you should do the wrathion quest again

I’m talking about the one back in cata, where he was cured of old god corruption as a whelp.

did you forget the part where alleria gets a vision of the naaru driving a worlds pop to zealotry and then crystallizing the whole planet killing the life on it.

A Vision from the void? No different than the horrific visions from N’zoth, its not real.

it wasnt from the void heh it was both and it was mutliple visions of things to come and the light stuff is happening to alt draenor

(Commentary): Unit Exacitor certainly forgot this one. Can you provide a source? I know it’s not the audio drama because I recently listened to it to provide a source for someone arguing that Alleria had been, ‘tainted by the Void,’ when she encountered a void entity on a demon world that had been destroyed by the void entities.

it is the audio drama, part 3 I think or 2 loctus walker literally helps her its one of the multiple visions she gets

(Query): Could you provide a time stamp?
