Why do imbalanced things remain so long?

cuz according to bliz’s longtime stats, if they balance too much it makes a lot of players quit because they feel like they’ve wasted all of their investment and need to start again

now they only do major balancing for new tiers because it is easier for people to start fresh in a new tier with new catch up mechanisms and stuff that makes a lot of the prior tier grinds trivial or not necessary

A situation is imbalanced if it’s not equitable or fair. An imbalanced workplace might pay men more than women for doing the same work. Something that’s imbalanced is off-kilter or out of whack. It’s out of balance, but not in quite the same way that the adjective unbalanced implies

Maybe you should google before being a grammar cop lol. But you cannot compare a normal dungeon of tanking with players that can’t do optimal dps, compared to dps players at a level of damage that are running 17+ keys. When people can burst 30k within 3-4 globals then you aren’t going to have an easy time holding threat when your damage as a tank is tuned so poorly

Yeah, and I feel like if they do play the game, they do it with friends/co workers so they just chalk it up to a player made problem

Wildly different experiences yield wildly different complaints. Couple that with the fact that in a nonlinear system tweaking one input can drastically change outputs. Then add huge public outcry over changes particularly any nerf to popular classes. Then add in a diverse playerbase that have wildly different expectations and desires.

Blizz is damned if the do and damned if they don’t. They have to try and make sure that these “OP” items aren’t just being exaggerated because they are popular, while also choosing the right changes to please the most people.
