Why do i keep getting sapped in combat

does anyone know?

Because it’s bugged and they never fixed it like 90% of the game.

is it like when you’re in a bg or out in the world and combat just won’t drop for what seems like 10 minutes?

This is the worst.

I saw Venruki tweet today he’s been getting sapped constantly while in combat, or that Rogues are dropping combat randomly and getting saps off.

Indie company guys.

Is this by chance happening to a night elf char? Usually only NE is capable of getting hit with this bug because it has sometime to do with glitchy coding involving your shadowmeld. When rogue vanishes it also drops you from combat as if you’ve used shadowmel when the rogue is close enough to you, allowing him a split second to spam Sap and get you.

Think it has something to do with your name. Probably coded into the system somewhere.

It can happen on any race. I have been sapped in combat mannnny times. Like I’m spam casting heals on my team mate that is going ham on a target and… whooop. sapped.

The ‘bug’ has been around for ages.

I made a video that explains how/why this happens a while back ago.

Some people benefit from the bug, others don’t. My Highmountain Tauren druid has this “feature” at the moment. If you know how it works you can induce it.

The bug is with person sapping you, not you. It’s a combat state bug on their side.

it would be on ‘both’ ends as the calculations are server side. So it’s not on either side. The server is returning to the rogue that the person isn’t in combat. It’s not like it’s a client side bug that’s over riding what the server see. The server is returning to the rogue the state of the target they are trying to sap.

Sap Bug. Are you playing Nelf?

Great Vid btw @Oozo

Yeah, I had to run an errand and was thinking about it on the road. If the target has the “bug” they can induce the problem on themselves.

For example, if you have the bug as a priest and go OOR with one of the people you’ve been in combat with there will be a small window where you are out of combat (even if another guy is right up in your grill).

So, yeah. It’s a two-way street.

edit: Side note, this obviously benefits druids and rogues the most. You can use combat/nocombat conditional macros to really abuse this.

Yep yep.

Sucks regardless. I don’t blame the rogues for sapping or any player that utilizes it. So many things going on as is.

It might be more likely that NEs get this, but it isn’t solely dependent on race.

In the movie that I posted my NE hunter and NE druid have the bug, but my NE rogue and NE mage don’t. Also, I show that my human warrior has the bug.

BTW, the movie is mostly from pre-launch Legion. THIS WAS FIXED when Legion went live and I couldn’t stealth with the druid like you see in the movie. However, this bug has come back with BFA and, as I mentioned above, my Highmountain druid currently has the bug.

It’s because the media said you were racist.
