Why do I have to watch someone else play the game to get the mount?

I pay sub, I play the game, I get 0 excitement from watching anyone else play the game.

All of this twitch drops should automatically given to active players, period. I can understand enticing new players or returning players with game play or w/e but we already play the damn game.

defeats the whole incentive to get twitch viewers doesn’t it?

I would honestly hate to be a Twitch streamer and see people come into my stream and leave after 4 hours. They clearly don’t care about me, my content, my time, or anything. They’re just there for a mount. :dracthyr_shrug:

Not only do we have to watch someone else.
It’s on launch day.

I love WoW.
I love Twitch.
I love the WoW section on Twitch.
I do not want to watch WoW while I am playing it on launch.

When I want a twitch drop but dont wanna actually watch the streamer, I throw the stream in another tab and mute the tab. I still get the item and I don’t actually have to watch anything while I’m playing.

Really looking forward to that free mount that people paid thousands of dollars for B)

Just mute and get free stuff.

that is EXACTLY what I will be doing, or turn off monitor while I sleep. Its just as pointless.

Just put Twitch up on a Tab in the background. That’s how I usually get drops.

Hm. Stuff to get by letting Twitch run in the background. Okay. Whatever.

Hope I remember.

That’s the neat part, you don’t have to

Prime Gaming rewards were better, imo. At least that’s official Blizz giveaway. This is rando streamers. I don’t like it.

You know I can’t believe people didn’t just think to themselves “hey i can mute the stream and leave it open for the drops”

ur first thought was to go to the forums and make a post about it?

Agreed, this is absurdity at it’s finest.

Gonna be interesting to see their “approved streamer” list

You don’t, just open the stream in another tab, mute the stream and do what ever you want.

I do these twitch drops for a few games… I mute the sound and minimize the screen and I play another game… 4 hours later i get my drops. I RARELY ever watch the streamer… That is boring AF to me.

Back when I played World of Warships and they did twitch drops, I would have like 4 or 5 tabs open with a stream in them. I would just mute them all and continue working or whatever. Heck I let some stream when I went to bed

Meh, I get the idea. A lot of gaming is driven by social media these days, for better or worse. Trying to boost your presence there is just a plain smart marketing move.

wait do you think in game rewards should be from playing the game?

but what a bout social media engagement!!!1111!!!

we can pay for a wow token in game. I don’t think “watching” someone play a game for a few hours to get a mount is that crazy.
