Why do I have to install a robot WA to play this game properly?

As a frost mage you basically have to install a Splinterstorm ´´Instant Winters Chill´´ WA to play the class optimally. We are not even talking about WAs that track small buffs, that no normal person can ever see, and thus requires re-arranging. We are talking about a WA that predicts when something happens that the WoW UI can never tell you.

Why on earth is this even a thing? How is good game design designing a class around having to install 3rd party addon that predicts when something happens?

Like, I cant be the only one, this is crazy right? Can Class designers plz stop designing the game around what Class discord mods think is cool and design the game for normal ppl instead?

maybe they didn’t design it to be played with weakauras “predicting” random events?

not every “problem” is meant to be solved, sometimes just dealing with the problem is the gameplay

I must optimize! Why am I forced to optimize!!1!?

You don’t need that WA but it probably would help you get onto a level playing field with those players who track their abilities in their heads due to playing for decades.

I agree. I have to use Exafenars WA to track winters chill and icicles for glacial spike. The boxes are a necessity for me to play frost mage. I really wish the default UI could show me this info. Instead of there just being icicles above my head which are impossible to track during end game content and winters chill just showing up as a debuff under a mobs unit frame.

All frost mages are using these WAs. Have fun trying to track winters chill stacks and icicles in your head and doing solid DPS. It’s possible but I’d rather make my life easier when dodging a million mechanics.

*After looking into the new hero talent I see where you are coming from. It needs to be changed.

**Thanks Matti for keeping Afenars WA updated and Ty to Porom for his winters chill WA.

This is imaginary and made up mechanics. You absolutely do not need a WA to track icicles and flurry debuff lmao.

this doesn’t sound like anything different ferals have been doing for decades

My optimization is so optimized that I’m finished with the optimization process before I even begin to optimize any more.

Efficiency is Important peeps. So much so, it’s been recognized as the 5th food group by the FDA. They’ll approve anything with enough cash in an envelope.

No issue keeping up with icicle and winters chill. I also use ElvUI and KuiNameplates to adjust all buffs and debuffs I see. Winters chill is forced to the front of debuffs so it’s never lost.

Icicles, i just count. Its pretty easy. Kinda like Ret Paladin with Holy Power charges. Count that aswell, don’t need a WA.

Edit: so many typos that I don’t even know how I managed them.
Edit:edit: fixed Winters Flurry to the debuff instead… cause I’m slow.

What kind of mental gymnastics is going on in y’all heads when you press flurry? If you press flurry, press glacial spike and then press ice lance and then go back to pressing Frostbolt it’s not that deep :skull::skull::skull::skull::skull::skull:

But don’t forget, we have another Core skill that benfits off of Winters Chill… but its on a CD… so yeah, nvm. It’s easy to plan around.

Edit: 2 CDs depending on how you talent.
Comet Storm (always talent myself)
RoF (if you use it)

Because they didn’t design with that intention. The class plays fine without hyper optimization. You could do that with most classes but that doesn’t mean it’s required.

We all have our quirks. For some people, WAs are ‘required’ to play effectively. For me, I can’t use the default unit frames or cast bar or I may as well be playing blindfolded. :skull:

I think it’s natural that most players will eventually develop a dependency on whatever addons they choose to use, since the whole point of these addons is to make stuff easier to manage.

You don’t.

To OP:

Can you please link or name the WA you’re talking about?

No you literally can not compete without the aura.

You dont understand how it works.

It literally is.

You dont even understand how the hero talent works lol, plz dont comment and prove to us all how ignorant u are.

Keep embarrassing urself people.

WA name Lurern’s Instant Winter’s Chill - Snowflake Edition - w/Splinterstorm

I am talking about a WA that predicts procs from the new Splinterstrorm mechanic.

i dont even MAIN mage and I know how it works, yet you dont? Have you no shame?

I literally talk about my OG post how the WA is about predicting. Yet you people think I am talking about traditional Winters chill procs?

1k Mage poster does not understand their own class. Classic WoW forums stuff.

So much anger. Nope, I don’t because I haven’t paid attention to beta. But I did give a shout out to the creator for the WA you posted later so I do have a general idea. It will take me 2 seconds to figure out when I look into it tonight. I’m over here being supportive toward you and you’re being a jerk about it. Thanks, bud.

It makes life easier when you can track it. If all you pros in 90th percentile want to count charges in your head while doing mechanics feel free!

I also like the WA because I prefer winters chill stacks to be removed on my UI when I cast a spell instead of when it’s removed from the mob.

Yes I can count in my head but it’s much easier when you can see the stacks on your UI. Most top mages would agree. If you have any questions feel free to go to the mage discord where a lot of skilled mages hang out. You people need to chill.

I use the same WA you listed above. It’s weird that you “don’t main mage” but are so concerned about this to the point you’re belittling people for no reason. Not wasting my time here. I got some early access to crush! Reported for clown behavior and muted. You’re “embarrassing” yourself with this type of behavior. Bye Felicia.

“Robot WA”…… lol /facepalm
