I’m talking about pvp mostly, that and I hate having to get new traits and different stats just to go fury because people don’t like arms in pve. I love fury and if he was good at pve and pvp at the same time I wouldn’t be complaining. Just sucks I have to switch specs so much because they can’t just make them both decent at everything. Not amazing just decent, that is all I want.
Both specs are decent in both pve and pvp. Arms is the weaker of the two in pve and it is viable for CE raiding and keys up to +20. Fury’s generally weaker in pvp but is pretty competitive in 2s and does a ton of damage in bgs. The class is really good.
I could go one step further and say that Fury is a coveted spec in M+. I have 2 Fury Warriors on Btag, neither one tanks or plays Arms and both are near 2200 in M+. One of them didn’t crack 2K last season.
Aedan is correct in an earlier post, people don’t avoid Fury because of their lack of damage. They are a benefit in M+, not a hindrance.
It’s not a perfect comparison, but I feel like we’re about where WW monks were last season, particularly with the rise of monk and paladin tanks.
On melee friendly weeks or with physical damage heavy comps in general, if you’re not using a warrior tank, you’re making a mistake if you don’t have a fury warrior. And our damage is so good you’re not gimping yourself by bringing one even if your tank is a warrior.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with Fury, they excel in consistently high cleave and aoe that doesn’t slow their ST down. Their ST is not the best but its still rather good. Where they hurt is not having a baseline interrupt other then that they are fine. They have no burst because their whole damn rotation is burst.
Are you forgetting pummel? That’s an interrupt.
I messed up. I meant stun.
They will rectify that next expansion sir.
So their single target DPS is average and somehow they still have “constant burst”, whatever that even means.
Gotcha.
So, just a little cool whatever about arms:
In PvP your azerite traits don’t affect your overall performance as much as other specs do. I understand the whole “all top warriors are running CAx3!!!” thing, but I have ran CAx3 and the dps you get from it isn’t really that good and it’s a proc… I find Striking the Anvil to be the most useful PvP trait simply because you can pump out more MS which is your main damage outside of DW.
I run LoWx3 in 3s sometimes, just cause the higher ilvl gear I have str is too good to give up and I still do around 15k dps in 3s which is something that shouldn’t be happening (mostly cause everyone target my teammates and allows me to sit in battle stance) and my Warbreaker hits for around 30-40k if it crits. Yeah, that isn’t a big number compared to other dps, but it’s damage I know i’ll have every 20-30 secs.
At the same time I like to think my dps overall is really good in Mythic+ granted I am just starting to get into +14 keys.
Edit: But if you do run CAx3 you will see some big slams.
I’m not sure your rating OP. But fury is great in PvE. Which you admit you like fury. And hate having to get two sets.
But also, fury, especially in 2s. Can climb to very high ratings. Probably much higher than you yourself are aiming for. You aren’t winning at BlizzCon. But 2400 isn’t out of the question as fury.
That’s the community doing that to you. Play fury and have fun !
I would do that, but yeah fury is decent but when fighting rogue/fire mage it’s terrible. 2s are very unbalanced and so I wanna stick with 3s. I mainly just wanted pve and 3s as fury that is what I wanted
And you can easily climb past 2k in threes as fury. Would think the root break would help against RM. Ps: every other class is miserable against this comp currently.
Anyways, just think you’re selling yourself short giving into community perception.
