Why do heroic dungeons still exist?

Why are heroic dungeons still a thing in TWW? Delves offer better loot on an easier path and Mythic offers scalable engame difficuly, like what is even the point? Besides opening up great vault slots for a player not doing mythic?

For raids, heroic makes sense because there are three difficuly levels, so heroic gives an inbetween level. Thats not the case with dungeons.

Mythic+ offers endgame content with scalable difficulty. Why does Heroic even exist as a difficulty level? It doesnt seem to really offer any useful gear stepping stone given delves existing. Why not just start ar M0? Pre-delves, heroic dungeons made sense. Now its just pointless.

IMO. Mythic+ already has a scalable difficuly leveling system. Heroic dungeons should just be wiped out as a concept. Like why not make M0 the starting point for max level dungeons. Note…this may require rescaling gear, Im not saying that M0 should be Heroic gear or skill levels need to change or gear needs to be easier to acquire, or anything like that. Im saying heroic dungeons makes no sense as a game mode. Hell you could even call m0 “heroic” if you were stuck on the word heroic needing to exist as a difficuly level. Basically just make m0 / heroic the same thing… a keystoneless starter ala m0…

Maybe there is some purism here akin to the backlash in WoLK, when dungeon finder was released for heroics. You know, real men walk to heroic, ahem, mythic dungeons. But I mean… you could still require walking to M+ and just only allow queuing to m0 if that was your bone to chew.

They don’t.

Heroic dungeons were removed in DF season 4. They then renamed the existing M0 dungeons to “Heroic” and then removed mythic key levels 2-10, and created a new difficulty supposedly around level 10, but untimed, which the called “Mythic”.

Normal dungeons at least help you level and give you starter gear at max cap. LFR can get you geared to go into normal raids. Heroic dungeons are a dead end. They don’t get you good enough gear to do M0. Delves are easier and give better gear, so why would you do heroics? You cant even argue heroics are multiplayer content and delves are solo content…because you can invite folks to delves.

If heroics acted as M0 and at least gave you a keystone to start M+ raiding and at least progressed you enough to start. They would make sense. Right now, if you queue heroic you are basically wasting your time (besides possibly getting yourself great vault slots).

If m+ drops heroic quality loot on virtually no lockout, heroic raids should be on a daily or 3-day lockout imo. Like they did in Pandaria Remix.

Well. I do agree with your point. Maybe you should start a new post on it? Typically the weekly lock was to prevent the top tier gear from being infinitely farmable, but if you can get better gear on M+… I don’t see any reason why Heroic or Regular raid would have a long lockout period.

Normal dungeons should NOT have “un-upgradeable” gear either. But thats another story.

yeah they had the system in MoP Remix and it felt really nice to be able to log in, raid whenever you wanted.

As far as your topic - yeah, idk if there’s even a need for Heroics anymore…I think that spans into the bigger issue that there’s just too many difficulties in this game.

You need coffered keys to get gears from delves. You aren’t required to have anything except ilvl to get gear from heroics.
