Why do GD "casuals" lump all other "casuals" together?

Is this the old divide an concur pit casuals against casuals, when you can just simply support LFR for the mount even if like me you could care less

Do you know how often I read such statements in the past? And in most cases it backfired.
“WoD flying complainer are a minority”
“High Elvers are a minority”
“Faction-imbalance is untrue and pushed by a minority”

And every time these people were right on the point and changes did happen afterwards.

Yep and the same was said about covenants too.

Argumentum ad populum is a type of informal fallacy,[1][14] specifically a fallacy of relevance,[15][16] and is similar to an argument from authority (argumentum ad verecundiam).[14][4][9] It uses an appeal to the beliefs, tastes, or values of a group of people,[12] stating that because a certain opinion or attitude is held by a majority, it is therefore correct.[12][17]

I would say it’s pretty common for people to do that, “everyone believes this” and “no one wants this” are common points people make that they can’t substantiate.

Omg… another one of those cat mount threads. I bet if this were a dog mount we would have one or two threads about it and then it would be over with.

Yep, same. If not for the kerfuffle here I’d never have even known about the achievements to get the slime cat.

lies. If you’re a casual you’re only meant to be doing solo content. It’s what GD said so must be true

It seems most people on the internet think:

That almost everyone agrees with them.

That they are the silent majority.

And

Some minority is being catered to.

You see these three feelings from the “Slime Cat Freakout” threads. They keep saying they are the 99% and that the elitist 1% is being treated better, with no basis on those numbers.

I mean, when people discuss the 99% vs the 1% IRL, there is usually a numerical demarcation, as far as income. That is an actual thing with numbers to back it up. If only 1% of the Player Base cleared normal, they might have a point. But it is a bit higher than that, I think.

I feel like a lot fewer people are casual players than they think. A casual player is simply one who plays the game casually. They can drop it or play it whenever they want, no strings attached. I feel like most people who say they’re casual can’t quit today without any hard feelings.

To you LFR isn’t earning anything, to others it is. Just because there is a fail safe within a raid does not mean people do not work to earn things. I remember when the LFR Garrosh fight was released in SoO. We had 10 stacks of determination, had to wait for 3/4 of a raid group to join because people kept quitting, but we stayed and got the boss down. And yes, it was fun to watch people get mowed down by the iron stars.

Running LFR can often be very much a struggle and in doing so does not mean people get a free gift. They run the raid, they earn the gift. People need to get off their elite high horse. Unless of course the reason you don’t want them to actually earn the mount for themselves is because you see them as potential boost customers.

This is probably hitting the nail on the head.

People assume everyone thinks like them. Why wouldn’t they? Until people mature they don’t realize the world doesn’t revolve around them. People think they are the center of the universe until they get enough life experience to realize they are just one in a billion. Meaningless. If they died tomorrow nobody would even know or care.

Sheesh. A bunch more posts doing this again so bump!
