for example,
2 hour cooldown for a Glamour
3 hour cooldown for a mailbox toy?
1hr cooldown for a 5-minute duration training dummy toy?
30 minute, 1 hour cooldowns for silly cosmetic toys?
why? what is the point of having these things that do not confer any real gameplay advantage on such long cooldowns

If mailbox didn’t have a 3 hour CD, how would they sell you a $90 mount with a mailbox?

This game stopped prioritizing fun and focused on monetization. That’s it. And it’s been this way for a long while now.

Tbf, a lot of the time you cannot use said mount inside a lot of instances, other than certain rooms.
Unlike the toy that can be used pretty much anywhere.
I heard it’s because the servers can’t handle a bunch of toys going off
Best reason I’ve ever heard for a WoW2 with a new engine that can handle it. <.<
those examples? those are toned down cooldowns. back in the time of the fossils it wasnt unheard of for many items to have 10 hour cooldowns

There are toys with a CD of 12-24 hours…

Magical Pet Mirror is the worst, to me. 1-hour cooldown for 10-minute duration.
There are so many toys and fun things now that honestly the 1-2 hour CDs a lot of things have shouldn’t really be a bother.
But I think the CDs are actually there for a reason, and that’s to control your stimming of toys. Forcing self control I guess.
Pretty sure this one is to stop players from spamming it and filling up areas with dummies, as some players are wont to do.

Player stupidity is actually the reason for a lot of the cooldowns on fun toys.

would never leave Beta.
it’d go the way or Rumble.
For that toy that summons a giant kobold that smashes the ground nonstop and makes everyone turn off their sound? Sure, put a 1-year cooldown on it.
Magical Pet Mirror, though? Not sure how that’s “abusable” by anyone.
