Why do dks have breath meter?

this is an outrage! they are dead. why do they need to hold their breath?

If you dislike that, get the Kalu’ak Fishing Pole from the Kalu’ak in Northrend.

I accidentally right clicked mine a few months back and now my blood elf paladin has never-ending breath.

I don’t know if it’s a bug, but… anyways, I miss being able to hold my kalu’ak fishing pole.

Its not that they drown, its that the death magic is water soluble and dissapears if submerged in water.

Exposing it to air regenerates the magic.

Because they forgot to drink their Nogginfodder elixir?

DK is literally the one class I have never played in my 15+ something years lol. I’m interested to even know this. A breath meter?! the heck

They’re reanimated. Most of their bodily functions work from my understanding. Most. Like breathing. And the want for food.

They obviously breathe. Otherwise, how would they be able to cast

I mean it is odd thought, but that’s why being a Forsaken death knight is the real play. You’re double dead and can indeed breathe underwater.

Better that than them Blood elf

ypu dare mock my blood elf studies!

out of habit.

Its not a breath meter. Its a sinking meter…

For forsaken the lore was that they’d just fall apart when under water for too long. I think they have never ending breath now though? I haven’t played one since Cataclysm for some reason.

It is a bit silly that DKs don’t get it but who runs out of breath these days anyway? The meter lasts for so long.

Undead used to have extended breath (with the falling apart bit as justification), and now they just don’t have a breath meter at all.

Water breathing is such a silly little thing that barely has any propose, but it would be a fun detail to show the DK is an undead. Consistency.

See what it actually is this

DKs are super cold even blood and unholy, so it’s less a breath meter and more of a ice meter

Eventually too much ice builds up on us and we just kinda sink

It’s not a bug, it’s a kinda annoying feature. Fishing poles are now classified as “profession tools” which means you can equip them in that empty box on the top of your fishing journal.

Basically, open your spellbook, go to the profession key tab (default hotkey is K, I think), and click on “Fishing Skills.” There you’ll find your missing pole.

EDIT: you can swap it out with a different fishing pole. I’m constantly switching the poles when I was trying to “equip” them the old way. It annoys me. :woman_facepalming:t3:
