Well, wow was designed for casuals as being the targeted as the main audience. First time around, no one cared, as it progressed through expansions and a years’ worth of content drought for each expansion, you would see a drastic drop off from players. RDF gave people access to play since people were leaving or lack of people that are in the level range for the dungeon. Be it active sub or not. People getting tired of farming the same raid, gathering mats, pvp, whatever the reason; people can get bored.

Been casual since just before ICC:
Not all of us have a lot of time to have a regular premade, and we can warp in and out while we do solo content, it’s the epitome of hop-on hop-off gameplay. We love it. I’m actually not sure why this is a thread.

I am by far anything but a casual and I am totally for RDF. I started in wrath and lets be serious LFG is absolutely USELESS period. If you wanna form groups the idiotic way by all means go ahead… I’ll personally take RDF every single day of the week.
There is no longer a “SOCIAL” aspect in gaming. Every community is pretty much toxic. It’s gone. We will NEVER get it back. Trust me I find that fact hard to swallow just as much as the next person. Sadly it doesn’t change the fact that it’s true. Even when joining groups using the LFG channel I do not talk with anyone and there is next to zero communication outside of stand there/do this/taunt now. Outside of my guild I do not remember anyone’s characters names nor do I care too. RDF is just a way to prevent my time from being wasted while sitting in Dal spamming LFG blah blah blah.

I’m having trouble understanding why you think spamming LFG like a robot then inviting without saying anything else is somehow more social.
Any kind of social interaction would happen in the party during the dungeon.

People want to play Classic to experience a more socially fostered environment. Where realms mattered. Where traveling the world immersed you.
Just because you may not or others doesnt mean this wasn’t the exact experience that was talked about. They even said as much from blizz on what their pillars are.
PvP has never been a significant part of wow no matter how hard they tried. Its always been this weird mode within the game. Don’t get me wrong i love it but this blanketing two entirely different forms of gameplay isn’t honest.
Problem i see with you is the game doesn’t appeal to your particular way of playing the game. The only game i have EVER played since i was a child that really fostered creativity in play is Minecraft … because it was designed to be like that by Notch.

What you just said x100. It’s fine for PvP but for PvE it “ruins the game”. And first of all where is the proof that RDF actually killed the game. It was the talents switching from 70 to 6 points that killed the game.

I like a social experience. RDF makes it easy to do group content and play with others. That simple. It’s more fun to do dungeons with others.

Dude its no use. These scrubs have drunk the retail cool aid and want the convenience regardless of the damage it will do to the game. No amount of reason or logic is gonna change their minds and I’m afraid blizzard is gonna cave to them sooner or later.
ya know it was this exact argument that turned retail into the ^%$# show it is now. If you have a demanding job with a spouse and kids then this game isn’t for you! GO AWAY! The rest of us shouldn’t have to suffer in order to accommodate your poor life choices!

its not casual or not casual. RDF //group finder is mostly a tool to prevent Karen, Feeling Police and 2 years old tantrum crybaby players form stoping mature players from grouping and raiding.
lets say you get blocked off on discord by the weak minded players on your server because you dont bow down to their delusions and scams… how do you raid or group? you cant. raid finder and group finder( cross realm) breaks that ban and allows player to actualyl enjoy the content without being limited by the sensitivity or the weaker minded server population
