No thanks.
It affects all players when welfare gear is given out, and its not for the positive.
I don’t do m+ keys, or mythic content, therefore I don’t deserve mythic gear.
You simply don’t deserve gear you don’t earn. Plain and simple.

You can easily buy the gear.
Is that easy enough for you to understand? There’s no real requirement to put in effort.
The funny thing is, I went back and did stuff with high level characters to unlock, for example, the Dark Ranger stuff for Hunter gear and appearance options… for the class weapon mogs… etc… and got hooked on the class hall stuff even though I was overleveled by 10 miles. I like class-specific content that acknowledges more details about your character.
(See also, the NPC I’ve run into somewhere who says in surprise and then suspicion to your warlock “You’re not a demon… mostly”.)
“It wasn’t a baby gift”
The entire idea of “earn” in a video game gives me a
reaction.
You could though, if you actually did them back in Legion.
Its okay if a very few handful of things are unobtainable after the patches and expansions they are a part of.
You think and the black bug mount should still be obtainable?
Which is where the ‘rat race’ feel comes in for some of us.
See also, scaling content that tries so hard to not be outgeared and outleveled… making it seem like there’s just no damn point.
You don’t think you should have to earn rewards in the games you play?
Because I like the way it makes me feel.
While true, RWF guilds clear Mythic first time around with an overall average in the higher echelons of Heroic level gear (Liquid got title with a 709 ilvl average for example).
I think games are supposed to be fun, not feel like a job.
Too often, Blizz’s approach to WOW crosses the line into me paying them for work they demand I do to get “rewards”.
But you don’t think you should have to earn the rewards in the video games you play?
Should blizzard mail you mythic gear each week for logging in?
I think a million dollars would be fun. Why isn’t it being handed to me?!
But you never clarified. You just said it was borderline unobtainable for whatever a casual is these days.
Is a Delver gonna have a hard time if they’re like new and limited on time currently? Yes, that applies to anyone fresh engaging in a pillar.
Was going to say “bait used to be believable” but here we are like 250 comments in, on a topic that people will never stop fighting about
That’s… really not a good parallel.
Not the content casuals are doing. The stuff we get from Delves and the Great Vault is fine for most casual content.
Goes away once you understand it though.
Having 25.4 Billion dollars is more money than you’ll ever spend in the next 4 generations of your line. But you’re still gonna want another 25 Billion just because. That’s the problem. Wanting it for the sake of wanting it, with no real practical use.
The same exact logic exists why a mythic raiding tryhards “needs” mythic gear. They already killed the boss hence the gear they are wearing is already good enough. Plus they raid “for the challenge” so getting better gear only trivializes that challenge by however much it improves their output.
You can also argue the badual getting mythic gear helps them with their POTENTIAL progression grind since they are “so far behind” thus they “need” that gear more than the tryhard.
It’s almost like basing your stupid perception on what someone “needs” in a game where gear already isn’t a zero sum system in the first place is stupid. Let the badual billy get mythic track drops from his delves. He still isn’t going to have the IO score or kills/logs proving himself in real levels of content to threaten getting the spot over an actual deserving/proven candidate
You answered you own question right there. Most people love steam rolling content and feeling OP’ed while they do it.
