Why do Americans fawn over Canadians so much?

It is a polarizing thing. But in my experience those who dislike it outnumber those who do by a small margin.

Now this was uncalled for. I could use the same argument for those who do like it. The sweet and sour of the pineapple clashes with both the saltiness of mazzarella and the acidity of the tomato sauce. You would need an unrefined palate to enjoy such a thing.

Yes. Your point? Isn’t that what the internet is for?

I don’t really have an opinion on Canada. I don’t think about it. I’ve never been there and can’t think of a reason to travel there personally.

I’m more of a warm beach person.
They don’t bother me but I don’t idolize them.

I haven’t met any Americans that Fawn over Canada, total news to me. As a person of French Canadian ancestry born in America, I have visited Montreal and it was pretty clean for a city. And it had poutine, so I will give it that.

I love Canada.

Anytime there is a problem in the world just blame Canada. But when traveling abroad everyone is a Canadian. :raising_hand_woman: :raising_hand_man:

It is a polarizing thing. But in my experience those who dislike it outnumber those who do by a small margin.

The difference is the ones who like it dont constantly cry about others not liking it and demand it be put on everything.

That was uncalled for

So is the constant whining about how pineapple on pizza is an abomination and the people who like it are evil

You would need an unrefined palate to enjoy such a thing.

It doesnt really “clash” though. A refined palette is able to appreciate a balance of flavors, which pineapple does well. The unrefined palette is more likely to not like more complex mixes of flavors.

ITT: People not from Canada telling Canadians they’re wrong about Canada.

Propaganda at it’s finest

For whatever reason, it started becoming a thing around our last Presidential election. People on the left side of the spectrum here started seeing Canada as the place they want to emulate because it is closer to their own political views, to the point where people wanted to move there if Trump won the election.

It’s still a thing as of yesterday:

That aside, personally, I love Canada. Great place. Toronto is one of the cleanest cities I’ve ever visited. I work with a ton of Canadians, too.

Those people would be in for a very rude awakening

You must have very nice and understanding friends and family because that is not my experience.

Yes. Because it is an internet joke that is taken to an extreme because it’s a fun and silly argument that has no real ramifications. Unlike so many other things recently. I’m starting to think you are new to the internet.

Yes. it really does. Perhaps it is like cilantro and how some people taste it as soap depending on how their taste buds work. When I eat there is no appreciating a balance of flavors, it’s like eating one of those vomit flavored jelly beans.

Canada is a beautiful country. Most Canadians I have met are very friendly. But I do not worship or fawn over the country or its citizens.

I’m starting to think you are new to the internet.

So when people meme about pineapple on pizza being an abomination, it’s an internet joke. When I meme about how the people who dont like it must have children’s palettes, I’m new to the internet and dont understand humour

Canada is alright, but I wouldn’t leave the U.S. for it(maybe for vacation, but not as residence).

Honestly, the best thing you guys have that I want here are mooses.

OP… nice generalization(s) you have there.

I am sure you speak for all Canadians and all Americans on the subject of Canadian and United States relations.

Personally I don’t worship Canadians or the country, I do want to visit, and I am sure I would be accepted (because I am spending my money and time there) I wouldn’t plan on being rude or putting anyone down, and as long as iam being respectful I am sure no one will care if I am from the US… or Canada.

The plural of moose is moose :deer:

False. Language is a made-up construct and I don’t have to follow any of its guidelines.

It’s because Canada is great.

Happy Canada Day everyone!

There are plenty of moose in America. You just have to go north to get them.
