Why didn't PvP set bonuses get updated?

ZG set bonuses got updated. Tier 1 and Tier 2 set bonuses got updated, even .5 set bonuses got updated for a lot of classes. Why in Thrall’s name didn’t the PvP gear set bonuses get updated?

SOD pvp is sadly the last thing on there list. Which deeply concerns me in regards to classic +.

That’s my real concern too. They have not done much in the way of improving pvp, though given the survey they put out, it sounded like they were open to throwing in the tbc honor / arena system into classic +… which would be infinitely better at least.

I think it was wasted potential not having the ashenvale pvp event scale up. The STV event felt like trash, and they reused that for two phases… then there’s the mountain which is just, let’s slap a 3x modifier on kills there… which I don’t actually hate, but man… I would love to see more.

They will probably copy and paste what wrath/cata has, and that is a good thing

I wrote this before, if they didn’t want to come up with something new, they should have just increased all the set bonus stats x2. 40 AP to 80 AP and 20 Stamina to 40 Stamina etc. This is all.

Classic+ is just going to be retail in all the worst ways that retail is retail. This is because the devs here do not understand what made classic tick. They cater to the pve FOMO crowd who insists they “have” to rank if the gear is good. So these devs will never carry forward what makes the honor ranking system so beloved in vanilla classic.

It’s not going to be possible for them to produce a good classic+ because of this.

Devs dont give two figs about pvp.

They literally nerfed damage AGAIN. Why would they buff the pvp gear in anyway? They hate people getting stronger in pvp more than anything.

Would have made a whole load of sense since they buffed the stam to each piece anyways. What would have really made more sense is to add the resilience stat to it instead of just baseline decreasing damage done, so there’d be an actual reason to use the pvp gear.

So you can use it as PvE gear and not skip a beat. Like in classic. This, being a classic season, should have that dynamic. Retail is where you have pvp gear that is strictly just for pvp. It’s one of the reasons retail is retail, and classic is classic.

Retail a lot of the time actually shares pvp and pve gear to some extent or another. Generally pvp gear is just slightly nerfed in PvE, and at times vice versa.

Well that’s what I mean. Wearing rank 13 gear in classic doesn’t gimp you at all. You can excel in pve.

Incorrect. The PvE gear sets have significant advantages compared to the pvp one, which is still the vanilla iteration. Even the ZG / dungeon sets have better set bonuses than the PvP gear, which is highly problematic. Some of those set bonuses are HUGE.

Rogue for example, .5 dungeon set gives us a 35 energy return proc. Tier 2 gives us a 1 min cd on vanish baseline. ZG gear gives us an extra 30% crit on ambush, meaning we can be specced to have 100% crit chance on ambush… then there’s the PvP set… 40 attack power and 20 stam… Something horribly wrong in comparison.
