Hunter here says welcome to the machine. Were pets are no longer able to get to choose. Nope stuck in one role. We can not use tanking pets. Nope we use tenacity pets to hold agro. Insanity has left the building for pure dps class. Well not sure for mages. they seem pretty quite. Poke nose into room.

Taunt turns off automatically when we go into groups like lfr and lfg …I think people might be turning it on to troll you.

A lot of the issue, from what I’ve noticed while playing my warlock…
The threat itself isn’t really any different. The problem comes from Threatening Presence(the threat modifier) and Taunt being auto disabled when summoning often times. Then pair that with the Taunt not being used even when it’s on auto, it can lead to a bad blueberry experience.
Seriously, watch the taunt button next time you burst a single mob. Initially it was used on cd which ensured aggro was maintained. Now, often it’s not used at all and you have to manually use it, even if its on auto. Of course, sometimes it works normally. So I’m not sure what triggers the passive blueberry syndrome.
When threatening presence and taunt are working as intended, our beloved blueberry holds aggro quite well, despite being squishy.

I was putting a few levels on my Velf Lock yesterday and wondered why mobs would run right past my Voidie and start beating on me. That and Health Funnel having to be part of my rotation when it does hold threat becomes annoying quickly.

True. Don’t waste time channeling a small heal, when he is about to die summon a new one who will arrive with full health
until blizzard notices we are not playing as intended and “fixes” it

Since 8.1? Try since 8.0 when we lost the infernal as a tank. the void walker just doesn’t compare.

I have summon voidwalker on a hot key. Instead of healing i"ll pool a shard and just resummon him when he’s about dead at full healt, not like he holds agro that will drop since it has already moved to my lock if I just have corruption ticking on the mobs.
God help me if I throw all my dots and deathbolt something.
They rip off our 'tanky talents and such" then nerf our tank pet and take away my big green rock tank.

Does anyone designing class / spec ever actually play that class spec for a few months doing normal things in game without any cheat codes?

On my warlock, my voidwalker was doing fine until I hit warlords this morning. Now he can barely hold mobs unless I’m spamming incinerate instead of using chaos bolts.

I put in a bug report weeks ago, they still haven’t responded, I rarely play my lock now, hope it’s fixed soon!

Well, people complained it was squishy before so they fixed it, now you take all the damage and the voidwalker takes none

ya I found it better to resummons the VW instead of health funneling it as well
Money, they want to make leveling as painful as possible to incentivize people to buy boosts.
If warlocks are running dungeons with their Voidwalkers out then they shouldn’t be in dungeons, unless the tank dies and they pull out the VW to help finish the fight. I would ask them to summon a different pet if they are doing this , a tank shouldn’t have to compete with warlock pets.

Slow down! Life is to be savored! What would you do if you could actually kill a mob as quickly as possible, go on to the next mob, and then the next one? Why aren’t you taking the time to admire the way the blades of grass wave and respond to your corpse falling on it? Next time, make yourself some coffee while your Voidwalker builds threat. Read an article. Do some stretches. What’s the hurry?
Blizzard is just looking out for your well-being, here.
Also, just to note, the longer it goes without any response the more likely it was purposeful and they’re just waiting to see if you guys stay mad, so there’s that.

Even with a Tank Pet I have Mend Pet as part of my “rotation” on my Hunter.
