Why did you remove the weekly hours before reset?

I carved out the late evening to grind M0’s on an alt with friends, and had only one mythic to finish, to find out the quest was removed from all our log’s 2-3 hours prior to server reset.
What is the reasoning behind this? How frustrating… what a complete waste of time

I agree, I finished out the mythic weekly and it disappeared as soon as I left the instance. It’s so upsetting.

that sucks, I’d be mad

Bad move from blizzard will remember it

Oof, I’ve never even heard of that. I did notice I got a random PvP brawl quest an hour or two ago…maybe they bugged something?

I was 3/4 completion too, a busy week with COVID so I couldn’t complete until tonight. I had 2 hours until reset, the group formed for the last run and buh-bye quest…in an expansion where GEAR is more “meaningful and hard to come by” It now vanishes too? Can we get a blue post on why this happened and is there some sort of compensation?

When you look at the in-game calendar, you see weekly events end 3 hours before reset. So, it’s not a bug or something.

Interesting. Thanks for letting me know, I never even realized it was some kind of weekly event.

had a few guidlies notice this, not one to keep my weeklies til the last minute so never noticed, does it always go a few hours early?

lol unlikely

so a weekly quest which starts on the weekly reset vanishes hours before the reset? Vault opens and closes on reset as with everything else in game. I fail to see why this would need to be different from everything else on the reset

Y’all ever look at the calendar?

I completed mine at 4am and apparently was too late. I did not see that the event ended at 4am but I am also not usually waiting until the last minute. Holidays and all though /shrug

maybe they should call it 6 days 21 hour weekly quest

So I can understand if this is ACTUALLY part of the “weekend” event which was the dungeon thing, but this never stated anywhere on it that it was part of said event and it is even “weekly”, not “weekend” like the event. However, historically this SAME quest for legion/bfa versions were Tuesday resetters and not “event” resetters. Why was this change made?

Also, why make the weekend event end just a couple hours before reset? Why do that to us in the first place? That’s a not-feel-good design and only frustrated us. That was a heroic raid gear piece that thousands just lost because of a couple hour gap between reset and event ending.

My only feedback to blizz on this is: this feels awful and is only adding to the awful feelings of a covid season holiday. I stayed up 2 extra hours like a faithful money-paying player for this, and I had the rug ripped out under my feet.

In a world riddled with a virus and we’re not able to go outside and we’re trapped in this nightmare, Blizz out there playing dirty on us.

Well said. Looking forward to a heroic Ilvl gear loot and now I’m left with a sour feeling toward the game, and I was going to run a mythic 0 for some fresh alts to help them gear up but the healer and I just felt like crap so we closed the game and apologized to the group.

The weekly event, specifically for mythic dungeons has ALWAYS ended at daily reset time, since Legion. Even if I did look at the calendar this week, I would have never noticed it ended hours early.

Blizzard really should have put out a post somewhere stating this was the new time for the event to end.

The in-game calendar time is in US PST but doesn’t give a timezone, but my Oceanic server time is way different. So I’m used to not looking at the calendar for times. I’m somehow supposed to know that unlike almost everything else with a daily or weekly reset, this weekly actually ends hours earlier for no given reason.

Yeah, it gives times for a completely different timezone to the one my server actually has, so me and I assume many others like me have gotten used to ignoring it.
Even if it was correct for everyone though, why does this end hours earlier unlike basically every other weekly/daily thing in this game? Are they trying to troll people?

Shadowlands dungeon event ended at 3 hours ago, check your calendar. It’s your fault you didn’t check when it ended and tried to procrastinate until the end. Sorry about it bud.
