Like why? What a waste of time honestly, visions weren’t even there at the start of s2, why even bother removing the enchants?
So they didn’t have to balance them with s3 stuff. We’ve known about this since day one of Visions.
People are overthinking balance.
There is no legitimate reason, they could have just taken the enchants into consideration to begin with.
Literal waste of time.
But muh balance is the most overstated, overrated issue ever in wow history. The specs could be within 5% of each other, and you would still see topics about muh balance.
This is not even a balance problem, this is just a laziness problem.
You’re right, it’s not about “balance”. It’s two things:
First, WoW is a Seasonal game, and one thing the team works hard to do is ensuring that previous season content is not required to enjoy the current season. If the enchants still worked for Season 3 then Visions would continue to be “required” content.
Second, along with the first, the enchant’s tooltip has said “Season 2” since the beginning, so it should not be a surprise that they are now gone. The game has told us this for months now.
That’s nice but what about the belt?
The belt was given to us at the end of Season 2 with the explicit mention and purpose that it is relevant through the beginning of Season 3.
I know, i personally think that treating an mmo as a seasonal game is actually a pretty bad idea.
Horrific visions really didn’t take long at all, so the issue about a time sink is frankly barely an issue.
This is meant to highlight an issue with the game, rather than just complaining about the fact that they removed an enchant they already said they were gonna remove.
They should make some efforts to make content last a little longer, with maybe rewards a few ilvl below the current season content, and also more dungeons per season.
Some seasonal aspects are fine, but i think they are going too far at this point.
The odd thing is you can’t get the belt anymore or upgrade it fully if you didn’t in Season 2.
You disliking it and paying no attention to the fact that they were being removed doesn’t mean their reason isn’t legitimate.
So now it’s lazy to prep and plan for how they want content to work. LOL okay.
This is incorrect. You can absolutely get the belt and upgrade it through normal Delves. I’ve done it on two characters now since patch drop.
Because they’d probably be better than the current helm enchants or whatever we have now.
And then people would be mad we’d be forced to go back and do Visions.
It’s dumb, I agree, would love old content to remain at least semi-relevant instead of purposefully made obsolete.
But, it is what it is, and has been this way for years now.
The new patches roll out and you play the patch, not really the entire expansion. Unless you are interested in legacy stuff.
That’s weird.
Horrific Vision Revisited NPCs are still there. And they removed the Enchants?
They just left the collectibles vendor and of course the actual Horrific Vision.
Well, it’s fun while it lasted. You didnt put the Enchants as your To-get list in Season 2?
Visions are now part of world content as an option for the Worldsoul weekly. The enchant has said on it from day one that it was for season 2 only.
This is just pseudo intellectualism.
Keeping the enchants would have been literally no work at all. Or barely any.
Just stop, this is not a smart argument.
Because part of their philosophy moving from the Legion-Shadowlands era of WoW is removing unnecessary, tedious grinds for players looking to catchup and play the newest content.
I promise you, killing S2 content so that people can jump right into S3 is a substantially better situation to be in than what we had in previous expansions where the bulk of new, or returning, player’s time was spent doing old content in order to be viable in the new content.
You claiming it’s “lazy” that they were removed when it was always planned that they were removed? I agree.
I’m sorry you didn’t pay attention and that you don’t like it. But let’s stop being disingenuous. Thanks.
The thing I don’t get is, who actually cared about the enchants? I got my enchant and literally never thought about it again.
How is this a big deal for anyone? It’s not like we worked hard for them.
No idea. I didn’t get them at all, as it wasn’t worth the time for me, since I was out of town quite a bit, so I wasn’t working on content that it mattered.
That is precisely why I didn’t waste my time on regurgitated content from past Xpacs, which was brought in as “busy work” for 1/2 a season.
But also
Is it really that hard to admit that blizzard is wildly inconsistent about forcing players to go back and do last season content for mandatory power items?
It was noted from the start that the enchants were only temporary, but it still doesn’t really reconcile why they’re temporary. They could easily have been carried forward into this season, and since they’re enchants, they aren’t locking down a gear slot like the ring, belt, and now cloak have done and are doing.
