Why did you choose your faction?

On day 1 of your experience on playing WoW whenever you started why did you choose your faction?

Do you still rep that faction?

If you left for good why?

i started as alli mainly because i assumed they were the “good guys” not knowing anything about warcraft/WoW. made a typical meme character nightelf hunter cause of LOTR.

i barely play alli anymore but im not opposed to it. i swapped to horde after all my friends quit wow after MoP. since then been playing on Horde. enjoy the lore mostly. i still play with 1 friend on the horde side but if he decides to quit then maybe i will go back alli. he doesn’t like to play alts and i don’t have much time to invest in more then 1-2 characters if im actually pushing meaningful content.

60$ base game that requires a monthly 15$ payment? I’m going to play both.

The alliance on arathor were obnoxious so I went Horde

Because the guy I was playing with was alliance. I was new and didn’t think about anything I just chose the side my friend was on gg.

Switched to Horde because I of course inevitably searched for “what’s the best race for x” and back in the day there was a best.

I play both now so it doesn’t matter.

My faction chose me.

I don’t choose factions I choose races. Usually I let my RL friends dictate which side they prefer and go from there.

I picked Alliance here in BFA for better city layouts.

And I wanted to enjoy the racial traits.

I loved Night Elves from WC3. Alliance had Night Elves, so boom.

Though when I was younger and couldn’t afford WoW I played all the WC3 factions and daydreamed about exploring all the playable races and zones. It’s probably why I have so many alts, I like seeing it all even though Night Elves are still A+.

Always mained the blue. I just like it more here. The races, cities, lore, etc are appealing to me.

I play both sides all the time, I’m not exclusive to anything. But Alliance is my favorite.

Was the home of humans, only faction with paladins, better cities, less savage, more gooder.

Still the best faction.

From day one I always planned on playing both sides, but chose to start with the Horde because they had trolls and Zul’jin was the man.

Because we were supposed to be the good guys, once you looked past the surface level impressions.

I started out playing Alliance because I had friends who played Alliance and started before I did.

I’m currently playing Horde because that’s where more of the population is for M+.

Started as alliance because I was horde through the RTS games and decided to see the other side. Even from the start I knew I would play both though, but my main is still alliance.

Played Malfurion in Hearthstone when Midrange Druid was a thing. At first it was Valeera, but Rogues needed help back then and I was new on top of it. Druid was awesome.

Started reading about the cards, because I always investigate about the story of anything I play, and fell in LOVE with the Night Elves (War of the Ancients and such).

Then, Blizz offered Liadrin as a Paladin hero if you made a new character and leveled to lvl 20 in WoW and well, Night Elf Druid was the one. As a Zelda fan, I saw how DEEP Teldrassil felt, how mysterious the music was, how the Shade of the Kaldorei appeared on every moonwell to tell you the past of the Kaldorei. It was instant.

Right now that Nelf Druid is not my highest Ilvl, and might not be the main in Shadowlands, but he’ll always be loved and my first. I play more Spriest which I love a LOT too. Hard choosing a main when I love three like that.

Back in the day, I made a Nelf rogue cause I didn’t know what I was doing, and thought Nelfs looked cool. When I got back into retail wow many years later, I tried to relive those years and made another Nelf, but now a monk because it was new and I thought “Huh, that’s neat”, bit of a mistake since I didn’t find it all that fun.
Then I went to Horde and made a goblin girl warlock and never looked back, and when they got a visual update, I played her more than ever before.

Been a fan of the greener side of the story since the old RTS days. When WoW came out, myself and a few friends from animation college formed a guild called the Beautiful Brutes, and just went around flexing all the time. Anyway, Thrall’s new Horde in a new world seemed like a much more compelling story than whatever it was the Stormwinders and friends were up to at the time, so there wasn’t exactly any big pull from the other direction.

Goblin girls never look back, but I’m always looking back at them. Siiigh.

My sister played on Horde on Malorne. I preferred Alliance, but it took me years to make an Alliance toon and now that is all I play
