Why did we get Vulpera over Ogres?

There are two fat playable races already. We don’t need more.

we didn’t need another anime race either after belves but here we are. let people play what they want to play assuming it doesn’t infringe on the other factions identity.

Fair enough. I would be happy if they got added for the benefit of my friends, I will say that.

If new story developments detract from WoW being Warcraft then they’re not worthwhile story developments. Vulpera do not fit with the Horde, much less Warcraft, and indicate that Blizzard’s new generation of developers don’t even care about the source material they’ve been entrusted with.

That’s why

because alliance is getting ogres.

I believe Ogres should be baseline.

Like, they’ll just be there as soon as you boot up the next expansion.

I think one of their racials should be akin to goblins’ rocket boots. (Not actually genetic)

It’ll be a device that shrinks them for indoor activity and enlarges them when outdoors.

Ogres, as a playable race, should have meaningful size.

i would laugh if alliance got ogres and horde got helves. XD

Ogre’s are not intelligent enough to be a playable race. They are a disgrace to their kind, only on Draenor are Orge’s somewhat interesting.

Brutish? Yes.

Barbaric. Usually.

Not intelligent? Maybe the vast majority. But not all.

In Everquest, the dumb ones were afflicted with a genetic predisposition to an addled mind called, “Rathe’s Curse.”

That didn’t make the entire race, stupid.

I think ogres are the same ogre cloned via magic. With 2 headed ones being a mutation. Or the reproduce with spores like the orks in 40k

That said. The horde have ebough “primitive” races. We darn sue don’t need big, dumb ogres

Ha!

And people have called female Kul Tirans thicc…

Mok’nathal make more sense as an allied race over Ogres, we already have the models from the Kul Tirans anyway.

So, just retread the elements of the RTS games ad infinitum? Yeah, that definitely wouldn’t sit well with most people. Dragon Ball fans complain about everything recycling Z, Star Wars fans complain about everything recycling the Original Trilogy, Pokémon fans complain about everything recycling Gen I, etc. This franchise progressing instead of regressing or staying locked to one era is one of the things that it still does right.

They don’t fit with what you think the Horde is, but as crafty scavengers that escaped slavery and are willing to fight and die for their freedom, they definitely fit with what the Horde actually is. It’s not like they were joining the Alliance anytime soon.

Again, your vision of what something should be is the opposite of what it actually is.

90% of the people playing this game don’t, why should they?

Rexxar recruited the Stonemaul into the Horde during Warcraft 3, where they aided the Horde against Daelin Proudmoore. In particular when the Horde invaded Theramore to kill the guy the Stonemaul fought side by side with the Darkspear at the top entrance.

At some point before vanilla the Stonemaul lost their home because of the Onyxia’s brood. They then established Brackenwall Village, which serves as the Horde presence in Dustwallow Marsh.

During Cataclysm Megs Dreadshredder recruited the Dunemaul clan of Tanaris into the Horde. Meanwhile the Stonemaul expanded into Feralas with Stonemaul Hold and aid the Horde against the antagonistic ogres in the region. Horde forces in the Blasted Lands also conquered the Dreadmaul clan.

During Garrosh’s attack on Theramore he briefly had his forces stop at Brackenwall to recruit Stonemaul forces for the battle and during the events of 5.1 the Stonemaul sent Or’Dac to aid the Horde war effort.

As the Horde prepared to head to the Broken Shore the Ogre Gregg sought to join the Horde and provided ammunition for the catapults.

So over all I wouldn’t be surprised if Ogres were made playable at some point.

Edit: I forgot this but when we recruit the Mag’har they bring over the AU Stonemaul as well.

“Nothing should be good or consistent because consumers are dumb.”

Thanks for clarifying.

Ogres are Orcs. You will never get Ogres as Orcs are half-breeds descended from them.

This. Vulpera make plenty of sense as an allied race coming out of BFA, but Ogres should’ve been a full-blown race since forever. Blood Elf slot would’ve been the most logical place to put them, but I understand why Blizzard would want a ‘pretty’ race on the horde side. Maybe shove Pandaren over to Alliance and put Ogre under Horde down there.

Right because history’s not being made instead of repeated or anything.
