Why did we get Vulpera over Ogres?

Genn never showed up in Kul Tiras aside from the Harbormaster’s office. He literally does nothing else. Kul Tirans aren’t beastmen, and you wouldnt mistake them for Gilneans.

They are the human AR. They were going to be paired with Mag’har, but got pushed back along with Zandalari.

Because they aren’t part of the story Blizz wants players to participate in. And Ogres are either too large to be a playable race, or would be laughable scaled to match the rest.

I’m not a “Blizz iz gud” guy, but playable ogres just aren’t a good idea. Sorry. That doesn’t mean it won’t happen, though.

Think of the bank in org as a tauren, that damn drape over the doorway. Now imagine an ogre going through

not to mention the disappointment if they only had one head. or the crying that they couldn’t use two helms if they had two. :stuck_out_tongue:

A female ogre is impossible to make

Slap some teeth and an ugly face on Kul’tiran female and you got your ogre.

Genn shows up repeatedly throughout Kul Tiras, especially in regards to his interactions with Katherine Proudmoore. He was instrumental in pushing the Matron Proudmoore into seeking out Jaina (and ultimately forgiving her daughter). He has a minor, but potent role … that IS reflective of Rokhan’s role on Zandalar.

Also, what BEAST MEN are you thinking of to be the WORGEN AR? Because as far as I can tell, there isn’t a SINGLE race in this game that could fit that bill (with the exception of MAYBE the NE Worgen, which have had ZERO presence in the Gilnean Worgen Racial Storyline; outside of sharing the same curse). Saberon? Sethrak? Neither of these seem to work in culture or relations.

lol okay

Overweight sailors and diaper-wearing gnomes.

Because Ogres do not fit the Allied race requirements.
They fit a Core Race requirement.

If we do get them, they will likely be a core race.

Ogres are ugly and I’d hate to see what blizz considers a female one.

Tauren and werewolves are traditionally seen as menacing monsters. Pandas ill give you, but they were cursed upon all of us. Theres nothing menacing about Vulpera, they’re just cute. Thats the difference.

It’s because Blizzard no longer cares about Warcraft and would simply rather add random cute crap that has nothing to do with core Warcraft lore.

Ogres were brought back into the Horde thanks to Rexxar, the Horde have settlements of them in Feralas and Duskwallow.

those are two of the best allied races to me. plus DID/velf/lfd. i race changed my warlock from DID to worgen though cuz of dat heritage armor. though the alliance on the forums seem to hate that as well.

also i have a ton of alliance toons and have been alliance since i started playing. i post on this toon because of rp reasons.

Many of the female characters in this game looked much worse than they do now. Female dwarves were really bad in the alpha. If they can pull off a pleasing female cow, I think they can do the same with ogres.

But I think Blizzard tries to attract females more than some other games. Vulpera are definitely more appealing to them.

i can imagine ogres would not be able to wear those shades of yers just as great.

Weird. I guess the past 15 years of WoW wasn’t actual lore.

I genuinely think Vulpera were chosen over Kelfin as the Goblin AR for two reasons: 1) The assets had already been largely devoted to the Fursona Goblins, so they were pretty much close to ready to go; and 2) Goblins are the least played core race on either faction (if you include all Pandas as a single group). It is not shocking to me that Blizz would decide to invest assets into a “Goblin” AR that was likely to have widespread popularity, over one that would have fringe popularity for a relatively fringe core race (Goblins are my favorite race, but I gotta be honest here).

Regardless, we were going to get a Goblin AR to correspond with the Alliance getting a Gnome AR. Blizz is just going down the list giving each CORE race a AR of their own (even if Vulpera are stretching things a bit). How people don’t get that by now I haven’t a clue? The next (and probably LAST) round of them is going to be the Forsaken and either SW Human (or Worgen) ARs.

i’m pretty open to most races but i’d prefer no lightforged undead for sw humans or undead nelves for undead.
