I was wondering if anyone knew the “official” reason, the unofficial reason was FOMO but all other mounts with vendors on them are still obtainable.
Do you ever think this will be brought back outside of BMAH?

There really was no official reason from what I remember. They just made a bad decision and they have to stick with it now, otherwise people who got it on the BMAH will be upset.
boosting WoW Token sales
I remember there being a blue or some response that it was a mistake, or miscalculation and they didn’t want giant ah mounts everywhere.
There was ideas a dev I think said that they might bring back the bruto mount as a recolor and without the ah vendor.
This was during the pandemic, when players were receiving government checks to help them through tough times. We saw too many threads started by someone who was trying to convince players to buy tokens with the checks that were intended to help them to survive and spend the tokens on the brutosaur.
Covid checks were issued out at that time and they decided to use the old FOMO tactic to increase their sales.
Most players won’t ever reach 1 million at a single point in time, yet alone 5 million. The majority of the outcry was WoW players being WoW players and complaining.
Because artificial scarcity is the backbone of wow that prolongs subscriptions. Welcome to WOW where players are scarcely fed the content, loot, and overall enjoyment to keep them hooked.
They hate the players.
All two of them?
My guess has always been that they wanted to control where players go to use the Auction House for some reason. For a long time they seemingly tried to use the Auction House as a tool for populating Stormwind and Orgrimmar. The Mighty Caravan Brutosaur would have been a threat to forcing most players to go to Stormwind and Orgrimmar to do any Auction House business.
They don’t seem to be too obsessed with where players go to use the Auction House anymore though.
Also, I’m betting that any new Brutosaur recolors are going to be Trading Post mounts, probably for 900-1,000 Tender or some such nonsense.
Don’t need an official comment from Blizzard to see they used FoMo to sell a metric ton of WoW tokens with that mount…
They had too many people buying it from selling wow tokens. They didn’t want as many to have it as how many got it.
FOMO design, they want to make that money
I wouldn’t be surprised if that little Fae Dragon helper from the Dream event gets added at a future point for $99.95 with all it’s utilities too…
They wanted it to be more special and for it to keep its value, wouldn’t be the same thing if everyone could still buy it at original price whenever they want.
I wonder how mad those players are that spent all that money for one…
They did it so they could justify it costing so much. Being a limited time thing made it expensive and people went crazy to buy one before they were removed.
At a certain point you can have too many of these taking up space in the cities.
it was broken - every player would want one. but it’s meant to be shared. Everyone can use the AH, not just the mount owner. So it is a status symbol.
This is kind of the reason, yeah.
The reason that was stated was that the unintentional side effect of having an AH on a mount was that the eventuality would be everyone would have one, and thereby it would have an effect on things like economy (involving people being able to buy and post things whenever) and it would also impact populations within major cities, essentially invalidating them.
In short, the longboi because of the AH was an unintended monster they had to course correct, so they made it so after the expansion, it would go away.
