Why did they go through the trouble of updating Ysera if Merithra is taking over?

Anyone else ever wondered why they went through the trouble of updating Ysera if her daughter is just gonna be the next aspect anyway?

Merithra still has that crusty green cloth naxx set that was released almost 10 years ago now and she’s going to be the new aspect so, is she going to get a new look similar to Ysera? I wouldn’t mind that, especially since Ysera is eventually going to have to go back to Ardenweald since she is bound to that realm now, and she had a lovely look that we’ll probably never see much of again. And is Merithra also going to be getting her own unique dragon model? I could see her having antlers like it seems Blizz is trying to do with more and more of the green flight.

I’m really excited to see Merithra become aspect. I was really disappointed when I first heard they were bringing Ysera back which would basically make her death mean nothing. But it’s cool that she’s just going to be here to watch her daughter become aspect and then head back to Ardenweald. So yeah what do you guys think?

No idea either, honestly. At this point it feels like it was more of an excuse to shelf Malfurion due to him being so overpowered the writers never know what to do with him rather than bringing Ysera back.

Also, Merithra doesn’t have yet an unique dragon form.

Some people are saying Wrathion will be the aspect of the Black Dragonflight because Sabellian doesn’t have an unique form either, so do we have room to speculate here or they will simply update the designs later?

So Merithra is obviously going to die before she can be aspect, and it’ll end up being Ysera anyway.

What do you mean Ysera is updated? She’s still in Shadowlands and I was just in Dragonsoul and Cata Hyjal, her model is still the same. All the others are updated though.

I think she has a new model, but it’s more or less stuck in cinematics for now.

What’s interesting is most people say it’s 100% Wrathion will be the new aspect because he’s on the cover art for the load screen, yet this rule is broken by Ysera being up there.

I’m alwys amazed by people who click on a thread just to tell everyone they don’t care about what everyone else is talking about. You see it all the time.

Still waiting for someone to give us a rational explanation as to why anyone would ever do that.

I hate Ysera. HATE her. Every time she has dozed off, we get wrecked. I was happy to see her epic death in Legion. Gave people that like the sodding awful creature some closure and got rid of her. Then we traded Ursoc for the stupid dragon. Now we are negating even her positive points. Let the stupid dragon go, please!

This isn’t quite as bad as the Mag’har allied race story making us feel bad for ever having done stuff in WoD, but it is bloody close, imo.

You think Blizzard will kill a precious alliance leader/figure? i doubt it. He would be corrupted/under the influence of someone like Anduin. lol
