Why Did They Do Moira Like This

How can we expect Blizzard to make good lore and stories, when they can’t even remember the names of their major characters. Even prominent in this expansion. Aka Moira Bronzebeard…

I guess she is renouncing her husband and son??

Edit: They fixed it to Thaurissan in the article. It originally called her Bronzebeard not Thaurissan

Edit 2: I think some of yall missed the point

The bronze Dragonflight grants Moira a look into the past. It’s right in the description :dracthyr_nod:

People on the general discussion forum are talking about Moira having Stockholm Syndrome. Idk. Has that story aged well?

She never had Stockholm Syndrome, Magni just deluded himself into thinking she did or that she was mind controlled by Dagran simply because he couldn’t fathom the idea of her willingly falling in love with a Dark Iron.

Moira actually loving Thaurissan and willingly marrying him while Magni only thought she was brainwashed was always the case even back in vanilla. She got angry after you killed him while on the quest from Magni to save her.

Loving slave masters and performing slavery is only cool if you’re alliance.

I think Horde might’ve had a better insight into this than Alliance did, funnily enough. As I remember, the Horde had a non-biased view of this situation and it was mostly driven by Thrall wanting to improve diplomatic relations with Ironforge. While the Alliance is sent there by an enraged Magni who desperately wants to save his daughter from someone who he believes is irreedemably evil because of the War of the Three Hammers that tore Ironforge apart and created a lasting rivalry.

I could be adding spin on this than actually existed to make it more interesting than it actually is, but this is my memory’s understanding of events after having done it back in the day.

They called her Moira Bronzebeard not Moira Thaurissan

Isn’t that because they’re doing a time thing and looking back before she married him? I’m not getting the issue.

Edit

Join Moira Thaurissan as the bronze dragonflight grants her a look back in history, guiding us all through a journey through eight epic boss raid encounters

So it seems we are joining current her to look back at past her?

No she was married to him when she was kidnapped and killed her husband. That is what they are relooking at.

Where? They call her Thaurissan in the linked page.

Think you got a mistyped article.

They must have fixed it. It originally said Bronzebeard i have a screenshot but idk how to link this in forums.

Ah what? I wish they’d kept that. What if Dwarven women don’t change their maiden name when they get married? Very based.

If you’re on mobile, you can post an imgur link. But you’ll need to put tick marks if you’re not trust level 3.

Seems like a typo that got fixed. Yes people are allowed to make lore mistakes.

Pretty sure all of the Dark Irons were slaves to Ragnaros.

She def would just out of spite for her father. She just recently forgave him but the story of her and her father was that Magni was a huge piece of doodoo towards her and cried he never got a son. He was so sexist towards her that she was regulated as a marriage chip. The best thing that happened to her was the ambush she got into. She finally became free of her father.

He also forbade women from serving in his guard, which is funny in hindsight considering the lore since then established he tried to force Moira into living a warrior’s life.

Lol that is such a revisionist tale. Yeah, she literally wanted a warriors life and be crowned as queen but her father was like “you’re a filthy women, go to the kitchen and wait until I sell you”.

That is why his turn was kinda needed be told in TWW and giving her fearbreaker.

Really? This is the hill you die on… surnames?

One of my favorite Amiga developers was Ben Blish, the son of author James Blish who changed his last name to honor his wife instead of clinging to his father’s shadow.
