Instead of mercenary buff? this would fix the massive BG problem in classic overnight.
We have same faction BGs because Horde cried endlessly about queue times in TBC.

Too retail. Bad in these parts. I like it in retail.
On horde I could rant on crap wait times when alliance was light in SL.
Or…merc mode it and get more bg as alliance merc’d.
Even when horde got no alliance bonus as a merc you were still getting say 2 or 3 more bgs an hour you’d not get as horde. So the honor still came in.
