I play rogues, horde rogues, and try the leatherworking profession…
I started at the end of “the blood crusade”…
I enjoyed the “wrath of the lich king”…
I liked the “Cataclysm”…
Pandaria -> NO!
Draenor -> NO!
Legion-> I finally said, “I HAVE HAD ENOUGH”.
Azeroth -> NO!
and now… with, Shadow lands… the "No"s are growing on me, even now.
Why?
Because I want MFing continuity, a linear flow from the very first 2004 beginning to the present. I don’t want to start at exile’s reach. I wanted to start over FROM THE BEGINNING.
A hodge podge, of “time jumps” and desperate searching for navigable routes is making me angry.
Worse still, I play rogues… on the horde side…
The most equipment starved, drop deprived class…EVER.
let’s take the leatherworking profession;
I need rare monster drops; hides, webs, icors, vitriol, fish guts, herbs, feathers, bones, scales, potions, crafted items I make, crafted items made by alchemists, blacksmiths, and enchanters… leatherworking demands the most “outside” materials of all the trades, and I need 5 of these, no… it’s 5x5=25 of these, no IT’S 12X25=300 of these other “bits”.
with so few items of each level and so few routes to advance leatherworking, everything I need is being held for ransom in the Auction house. Even with six character’s having “Farmed” the game world for materials… I still had to spend 20,000 gold on auction house materials to raise my leatherworking skill to 172, and I don’t see anyway I can continue.
there is no way to advance original leatherworking, outland leather working, northrend leather working, (by the way, where did the horde northrend leatherworking trainer go?) can’t do cata without a time jump, or legion, or draenor, and
I am sick and tired of being forced to play through cinematics! STOP INTERUPTING ME, FOR F***s SAKE! I want to start with a mailbox, with my trainers, my inn, my auction house… HOW HARD IS THAT? Then the face slapping stupidity just continues;
I can’t make a set of gear that is ALL BLACK. I AM A F***ING ROGUE!
but I can make; pink, orange, puce, purple, white, light grays, yellow , almost black but its really purple items. GET SOMEONE WHO ISN’T MFing COLOR BLIND!
LET me make “SETS” with both theme and colors of MY OWN CHOICE,
and for F’s sake… stop forcing me to beg other players for the very rare drops I need, or for items to be made …so that I can craft!
I have had 6 characters, five of them started with skinning. So I had saved up EVERYTHING for leather working…
I only recently started this rogue from level 1.
My rogue has yet to break through “original leather working”,
I still don’t have even 1 page of transmog unlocks,
and specific parts don’t even have ONE ROW of different items!!!
rogue is not too bad in leveling. Assuming you spring for weapons looms. Its post 50 this goes to crap fast…
At least you keep your 2 daggers if needed for casts with looms. 60 rogues I tried to like. Too many kicks in av. No, stop tyring to ninjya take stuff…we are farming.
Okay fine, let me go not in the bridge fuster cluck that has me dead in 5 seconds or less and find me some 1 on 1 action for actually interesting pvp.
I recently started several new leatherworkers on different servers. I got them up to 75 outland leatherworking. The key is finding patterns you will get skillups from. Some you need rep for. Check the “unlearned” tab in your leatherworking panel.
Yes, it’s a real PITA that I had to level up alchemy also. But mostly it’s a matter of gathering your own mats, since prices in the AH are at a luxury price point, since the demand is so low.
I even made rare sunwell LW patterns.
The leatherworking trainer is in the Leatherworking shop in Dalaran. It’s a neutral dwarf.
You can do all of these without using Chromie time. Gathering is best done on a high level character.
Dear OP, if you find an all black set, just be warned, black really shows all those cat hairs clinging to you.
Unless you have a black cat. But even then.
Just food for thought.
If crafting is your think, maybe consider looking into other games, doing some research regarding crafting specifically, and I bet you will find what you are looking for. By now you know what crafting is and is not in WoW.
If you don’t mind me asking, how is this even possible? You unlock them through quest rewards, boe drops, dungeons, raids (old and new) and all that business. If you just started recently I get it, but it also means that the vast majority of every leather drop you find will unlock you an appearance.
Plus, as a leather class it means we can draw from the transmog ‘pools’ of appearences for druids, Dh’s and monks. Which is a Huge library. I have 5 pages of only belts.
So if you’re so fresh that you barely have mogs unlocked, why tirade about not a lot of it being black? Wouldn’t that just mean you have to like, get some options first?
Its not like Alliance rogues get favored drops over horde ones, my belfy friend.
Maybe I can give you a little help—you may not know if you’re new to the system, but its possible to ‘hide’ your chest piece’ and show your shirt instead (They made it so you can hide every gear slot except pants, actually). So if you find a model for a shirt you like, you can always match that shirt to your pants, and ‘hide’ your normal chest. There–just expanded your options. Especially since a lot of shirts are just from vendors.
