Possibly because that’s not the reason. Possibly because the amount of power it would take for Tyrande to kill Sylvanas is too much for her body to handle and it burned out too much of her own life force before she could deliver the killing blow.
That was before he showed up
lmao she rerolled.
Before she takes off to fly she says “My life for hers” in Darnassian and then rockets off. Then after Tyrande tackles Sylvanas, Elune takes the power away, why even allow her to fly if you weren’t going to let her kill her since she already let her fly because she was going to trade her life.
The Winter Queen had us check on the heart of the forest after the conflict and no one realized Anduin was stealing the sigil. The Winter Queen thought it was safe.
Plot armor
I’m saying Elune didn’t take the power away, but rather Tyrande used up too much power with the flying tackle for her body to handle and her ability for her body to channel that power broke. Tyrande may have thought it was Elune forsaking her but it was actually her own body shutting down.
Yeah it could be the night warrior power was just far too weak and tapped out.

Gold. Anyone with rank 3 wanna link it? :3
Maybe Elune just wanted Sylvanas to know she wasn’t untouchable, but didn’t want her off the board for whatever reason(…yet)
Because Elune is in on the Jailor’s plan, and Sylvanas has actually been carrying out her divine will this entire time. It’s why Elune did not intervene to stop the near-extinction of the Night Elves back in BFA. She let Tyrande become the night warrior just to give the elves one last false hope before ripping it away at the most crucial moment.
Or Sylvanas doesn’t have a life the same value as hers. Not really a trade if a banshee is trying so hard to not have any sort of life around her
This is the problem I have with WoW. Crucial lore should not be kept outside of the game, ever. They make themselves look like idiots and incompetent story tellers when they pull that crap.
They want to sell books? Fine, use one of the thousands of NPCs in this game or other zones to tell a story.
Pretty sure elune knows that Sylvanas will turn on the Jailer and doesn’t want Tyrande to kill herself for Sylvanas.
Which isn’t really an equivalent exchange, why trade your queen for a pawn
We know sylvies a boss in the raid tyrande wasn’t gonna win. Either elune didn’t want tyrande to majin vegeta herself and cut the power. Or theres some deal elune has with another force. Or elunes also running on fumes.
Its not clear. Well other then plot armor.
Visually the fights nice. Naratively it makes no sense and is utter gringe.
It definitely opens up some questions, which I appreciate. As long as we eventually get some solid answers, I don’t mind being left scratching my head about the development. Sounds like Elune might be playing a divine game of chess with Zovaal, based off what Sylvanas’ said.
Either way, Tyrande was an Avatar. If a God decides to cut an avatar’s power, they can. Same deal as a Cleric in D&D. God severs their link with a cleric? Their basically powerless.
It sure seemed a lot like what Elune did. Now the reason? I’m sure we’ll learn eventually.
…I hope anyways.
The next 3 xpacs or so revolve around her. It’s really compelling.
She can’t die
Even if sylvie turns on the jailer it wouldnt matter. Her power up comes from him. She can’t hurt him with his own magic.
So the idea of her pulling some mcmuffin moment makes no sense.
Maybe Elune wants to give Sylvanas another source of power…
Who know! I know one thing, it’ll probably never live up to what we’re theorizing here and there. Something to be said for the fun of concocting up plots and see where they’d go. Reality generally doesn’t live up to things.
So that makes Baine; Brandon Stark?
