Didn’t Cata do away with pet special abilities? Arcturis the Spirit Bear from Grizzly Hills no longer casts mop fire and the Ravagers no longer knock enemies down. If I remember, it was the PvP whining that got them removed on Cata’s release.
Well after leaving the experimental labs of Nefarian, he was able to detox and can no longer do those things.
You would have to create a lab, so I would recommend learning Alchemy and avoid D.E.T.H.A from Northrend.

Cata was all about normalization so it was fair, Esports was a big reason for this. Normalization of weapon speed, rage generation, stats, armor, off-hands, abilities etc. Everything normal, everyone play the same.
