Having a private area just for your self and feeling like you had a Home for your character felt good.

it’s still there, however it wasn’t the focus anymore because player complain that we where force to stay there all the time and in Warlord of Dreanor everything was done in there that is why Blizzard stop focusing on it and made similar things from the garrison on other expansions.
but i agree the Garrison was like a home for the player and it is annoying that instead of updating it to have more fun thing for players to enjoy they just move some of it terrible features into other expansions.

The thing I don’t like about the garrisons is the complete lack of racial theme. You get human for ally, orc for horde. What a waste, I remember I got my first one on a night elf and since it was near that moon meteor I was excited that I’d get a special night elf garrison. Nope. None of the stuff in there was all that fun either, except for the invasions those were always fun.
If they revisited it, gave each race their own theme (or even just a few to pick from), and didn’t make it so much about pushing mats into slots for other mats and playing the table, yeah, I could see myself enjoying that.

I still go to mine as it is an additional hearth and makes it fast to get places. The problem with the garrisons was the fact that people ended up spending an entire xpac alone in them. Now this might be fine for the introvert players, but the extroverts went crazy! I think if the garrisons had been connected to a city, things would have ended up differently.

IKR? i remember when i learn if you raise rep with a race you can get guards of that race in your garrison…
but why not buildings?! why not ships and other things??? Dreaine had new Crystal Buildings in Dreanor why didn’t my dreanei hunter got the option to build building base of the Dreanie???
such wasted opportunities.

Generally expansion features do not continue past that expansion. Because it’s awkward having to go back to a previous one to be relevant in the current one or waste resources on it for no reason.
Garrisons had some issues too. One of WoD’s flaws was actually the garrisons and the negative effect they had on the world. As fun as it is having a personal area, I like them too, it’s not something they’re likely to repeat again as a major central expansion feature.
If they ever bring it back it’d probably be like the Pandaria farm, just a small out of the way side thing.

“Meet me outside the garrison.” That was pretty much what everyone did that expansion, and maybe fly to ashran to AH.
right now Garrison only gives of WoD mats and i think right now would be a good chance for blizzard to improve garrison so it can become the proper housing system players wanted.
don’t add professions or mission focus there, i am sure player would love new toy and reward base on the missions our followers do but let that just be for the fun.
Garrison should be turn into a Housing system like it was meant to be.

They are not going to do that. People hated the garrisons and were very loud about that hate. On top of that, the garrisons are located in a previous xpac, and Blizzard does not want you spending your time in WoD. They want you spending your time in Shadowlands. And finally, the garrisons ruined the AH economy and professions. A great example are bags. That economy has never returned after WoD. In fact, I have a guild bank filled with cloth just hoping that one day we will be removed far enough that bags will sell again.

i am down with this if i can change the designs of the buildings and add new furniture to the main building and new trophies base of achivements on other expansions
and statues that you can collect completing achivements on other expansions, hell i made a suggestion about chromie time here on the forums just resently they could add a statues as rewards for completing old expansions storylines using chromie time.

It was because they made an entire continent (although, to be honest, there wasn’t much to explore) and the players were fed into this garrison which became the primary feature of an entire expansion,
For something like that, it could have easily been converted to a 0.1/0.2 patch along with the primary expansion.
Yeah I was hoping that’d expand on Garrisons with racial-theme buildings. I remember being excited for WoD cause I was thinking I’d be able to make tree buildings like in WC3, and that I’d spend a lot of time customizing my garrisons for my alts.
