Why did blizzard break Intel HD 3000 Graphics?[FIXED]

I previously ran WoW retail and classic on my spare laptop just fine( at super low settings).

But now it’s completely broken and disabled? Why? Surely it didn’t take any real work to keep it active as it was working just fine before. It’s certainly plenty powerful to run classic anyways.

Does anyone know a work around? The laptop is just more useful than setting up a spare desktop just to run it for pet battles/fishing while I do something on my main PC.

Check your Config.wtf file. If it’s going to work at all you’ll need to make sure your gxApi value is set to “D3D11_LEGACY”.

The HD3000 only supports up to Direct3D FL 10_1. This removes the possibility of using DX12 completely, while the regular DX11 renderer requires hardware support for FL 11_0. Unfortunately it is possible that other FL 11_0 (or higher) features have been added, which would mean the hardware is simply not compatible.

You are a god, it works, Why do I have to do this work around blizzard…wtf

I dragged my old desktop out of the attic for nothing lol

Wait why are posts being deleted now, how is someone supposed to find this fix in the future blizzard?

It’s an 11 year old integrated graphics unit that is below min spec on retail and classic. Intel doesn’t support it Werth ever updates. At some point, tech gets left behind. A decade is more than most get.

Read min specs, understand min specs, don’t be surprised when below min specs won’t work.

But it literally worked I assume up to the BC classic launch, and it still works, it just doesn’t auto detect it to run in the legacy mode for some reason

That would be the definition of unsupported.

It may work, but it isn’t their job to make it work.
