My understanding is they went with a different team when Burning Crusade hit. I never understood that direction. The music in Classic is absolutely beautiful.

The music team has never disappointed me in the 15 years I’ve played this game.
To be fair, the BFA music is also amazing. I dont think Blizz fired any of the composers, my guess would be… they just wanted to move on. Maybe retire, maybe a new company or direction.
They did let Russell Brower go as in-house composer, but he and anyone that has worked on music for Blizzard in the past is now used on a contract basis instead of being on salary.
