This nerfs are illogical. 9.2 was released at Feb 22, it’s been 3 months, one short season with good procs and buffs that gived us destro locks a spotlight in high pvp and m+ setups. On the next expansion this set pieces will not exist anymore so why the nerf destro while alot of other classes that are already on top for multiple seasons are being buffed?
1 - Ritual of Ruin (2-piece bonus) now lasts 30 seconds (was unlimited).
2 - Summoning a Blasphemy (4-piece bonus) no longer stuns enemies.
3 - Demon Armor removed.
For PVP, why change the ritual of ruin if you are removing the stun? It make the the nerf even worst. We have like 2 Destruction players on top 100 3v3, if this stun or the proc was a real problem we would have a lot more. Like we have 11 pallys on top 100 3v3, and not a single nerf on the class. WTF? 15 warriors on top 100 3v3, not a single nerf.
So why only destructions? We have been saying this here a long time, there’s no destruction dev on the team, they probably just play random, see someone doing a combo on pvp and think “lol this is OP”, and don’t think twice before setting a nerf. The dev comment about this was " strategy of disengaging from the fight except in rare moments where the Warlock can setup huge burst " LOL, really? This is the PVP 101 basics, why bother? Mage does that, priest does that, everyone does that, this looks like a targeted nerf without a real reason to me.
And how about Demon Armor? What’s that? They are concern that we are too tanky? We don’t have any 100% imune like half of the other classes, we have to be tanky. We don’t want more health, since we don’t have this much self healing (taking about destro here), this health buff doesn’t work, they have tried this before, stop this nonsense.
For PVE on m+ the Ritual nerf won’t affect much, so why bother doing it? Just to remove the fun? The infinite kyrian buff was the problem, fix this, not the set pieces. This kyrian bug is the only thing that put destro in a broken class position and only in some specific fights of the raid, not the other things that was nerfed. Good god they keep the Blasphemy stun on PVE, i would litteraly leave the game if they remove this, because of this stun we can do some nice pulls on high m+, the cc power that we never had before now can be used.
I’m back on the game after a break on the patch 9.1 and for the first time since Pandaria was having fun playing as destro. The spec isn’t broken, there’s no need for this nerf.
It’s not like anything was broken on the class, it was good for sure, it was fun, and viable on both, PVP and PVE. Now probably will be a sheet tier again for PVP, and will be less fun for PVE and for what? Is Blizzard this judicious on class balance? I think there’s a lot of other broken things on game rn that are way more broken than this stun and didn’t get a nerf.
