Like artifact weapons… and other stuff. The restrictions make no sense, Not being able to put stacked stuff in, sure. Nostalgia items? Why not? I can understand restricting placement DURING those expansions but not after. I have like… a few shirts in mine, from before transmog was a thing. Every other time I try to use it it’s like ‘you can’t put this item you’ll never use again in here.’ Okay…
Then just give us another bank tab or something.

Transmog tab rendered void storage largely useless.

It was already pretty useless since you’ve never really been able to sue it, but you’re not wrong either.

I forgot that was a thing.

If you are going to put it in void storage you might as well delete it.
Unclutter your wow life.

Void storage is where my old tier sets from BC-MoP are
Long forgotten trash since I don’t need them anymore for transmog.

I mostly use it to store old raid gear. The thing that’s weird to me is that I can’t put old rep rings in there.
Well, back in MoP, the transmog yak had a reforger NPC, so all of your transmogging had to actually be done at the transmogrifier NPCs in SW/Org. If I recall correctly, there was no transmog tab when it was first introduced. The idea was that you’d store all your old legacy “outfits” in Void Storage, decluttering bank space, with a Transmogrifier conveniently nearby so you could swap outfits without too much running around.
That was the original intent for void storage - a repository for equippable items with in-game models that didn’t occupy regular bank space.
Storing gear there should add some tentacles to it. A storage/transformation system to match each order!

The thing has been nearly useless since it’s inception; basically an extra bank tab with a lot of unnecessary conditionals.

I was thinking the other day wondering why we still have it when it’s not even needed for anything anymore.

Void storage is weird. Some things can go in, others cant. I have a bunch of tabards stored there, but for some reason, there are certain tabards that it wont let me put in. Kinda stupid.
I like that we have it. Ive been playing since day one and there are things that I just dont want to trash. Having certain restrictions, like the ones that prevent some tabards from being stored, is dumb. Just open it up to all gear and non-stackable items.

It’s not needed.
Still, it’s nice that I can go there and pull out my actual Quel’serrar, and not just the image of one pasted onto whatever stupid thing I’m currently using.
I think items that have a “usable” function can’t be put in there - that is, items that do something when you click on their icon. Some tabards fall into that category.
You may not need it. That doesn’t mean it’s useless to others.
Honestly, I still haven’t figured out how the heck to use it. At one point, I literally clicked everything in my bag to see what I could put in there. Stopped messing with it years ago.
I still use it to put gear in there that isnt an upgrade but has different stats in the event that i want to try a different build or the meta changes
It was annoying that it removed gems and enchants but gems and enchants basically don’t exist anymore so you can throw most gear in it
Just one example of something I wont trash is my Deputy Pa’Trolla Badge. Trinket drop from Wrath that took me FOREVER to get. It does nothing, doesn’t mog, isnt useful. Still not trashing it.

Like putting my Legion artifacts in there so they aren’t taking up bank slots.
I guess maybe if one likes to collect things it is nice, so maybe we shouldn’t speak to loudly and get it removed. LoL
No that’s not it. Pretty sure I have several of the Headless Horseman’s sabers in there. And the Brewmaiden trinkets.
What I’d like is a Bind on Account bank tab, for things like the archaeology gear, pet battle stones, etc.
