Why can't you skin worgens?

The title of the thread. Why can’t you skin worgens?

I was running shadowfang keep in classic wrath recently, and all the worgens in there are skinnable. But when you play retail, and you kill a worgen, player or otherwise, you cannot skin them. Did they lose the ability to be skinned or something during the cataclysm expansion going forward?

I mean, yah you have blood moon isle in northrend which has skinnable worgens, and the wandering lost son of arugal in silverpine forest in retail, the last of the OG model worgens, and you can skinn that. But If I slay that sean whitesea worgen in the middle of draenor nagrand and collect the rare belt he drops, I cannot skin him. Makes no sense how modern worgens cannot be skinned.

On a side note, relating to the other thread, why don’t worgens have tails? You have some explaining to do here blizzard. As cool as the modern worgens have been from cataclysm going forward, the lore isn’t nearly as cool as it was. Still a cool race in my op.

Because of the fleas.

Pretty much yeah. Once they became playable they were no longer skinable and tamable , yes hunters taming worgen was a thing for a short while.

I do remember that. But I remember it being more of a game exploit/ clever use of game mechanics. I don’t think they intended you to be able to tame worgens as pets.

Maybe it has to do with the fact that the previous worgens were pretty much zombies in a way. They just kind of ran around, howled at the moon, and ran after people when they came close. I don’t know if they were intelligent or not.

But once they became more anthropomorphic. That was when we lost the ability to skin them. I guess you could make the argument against vulpera to. They are foxes at the end of the day, so it would make sense that you could harvest their skin. And there are skinnable foxes in the game anyways. They just are not vulpera and are not anthropomorphic or intelligent at all.

I dunno. Just something I was pondering recently. Especially after reading the, give worgens tails, thread. I mean, they are furry creatures. With fur to skin. If I kill a worgen, I should be able to skin him or her once they drop dead.

They also kind of make me think of the ogres. But for one reason. Female worgens did not exist as a model before cataclysm. So I guess they were invisible before cataclysm. And then decided to come out of the shadows. Or maybe, blizzard just did not write female worgens into the game yet. Who knows.

I still think modern worgens should be skinnable though. I mean, if you have fur, then you can use that fur for skinning purposes. Cataclysm kind of contradicted alot of things, but they ret conned all the old cool things about the old pre cataclysm worgens.

The fleas. Harmless little fleas.

Then, I’ll put those fleas in a box. Then I’ll put that box inside another box, and then, I’ll mail that box to myself.

And when it arives, I’ll Smash it with a hammer!!!

Well, one would have to ask why we can’t skin Tauren as well?

I honestly agree lol. When my tauren warrior falls in the field of battle, some alliance dude or whoever, should be able to skin me lol.

Tauren, Vulpera, and Huojin Pandaren should be skinable.

I honestly felt since the beginning that taurens should be skinnable.

Just kind of like how Blood elves make the joke about cooking tauren stake for dinner. Just makes to much sense.

Well can you skin Tauren? Can you get some high quality Tauren leather?? Until we get Tauren leather you get no Worgen pelts.
On that note, we should be able to skin Vulpera aswell. And I mean if Gnolls can skin humans we should too. Let us skin all the races Blizz, I want skin!!!

You used to be able to, I used to skin all those ones in the field in Westfield.

I remember. Especially the ones in shadowfang keep before the revamp. I am a horde. Don’t think alliance went to shadowfang keep as much. That was a long walk. I guess it wasn’t to bad once you got the southshore flight path.

You can skin anything with skin.

This from a tauren? What if I want to make some leather boots?

Why can’t we skin Humans?

The gnolls can! :<
