Why can't we transmog cloth to plate, mail to leather, or whatever we want?

So this has been asked before and the usual argument in forums, and even a defense used by the devs previously is something like “we want to maintain the fantasy aspect, a mage holding a shield or a warrior wearing a dress would take away from that.”

Meanwhile we have a shark hat, an innertube floatie belt, a watergun and whatever else pops up…

Because Plate wearers in a dress is reserved strictly for Paladins!

There is cloth that LOOK like plate and wise versa.

There really is no good reason. Not even for tier, considering off set pieces exist.

Yeah that is why I don’t see why they can’t just go all in and let us transmog anything to anything else, who does that hurt?

There is plate dresses for paladins.

Sure why not. What’s one more flush when everything else is going down the drain?

May as well… after the things they’ve added to the Trading Post, the immersion argument went out the window a long time ago…

I dislike the idea, personally, but there’s so many armor-agnostic ensembles out there at this point that it’s hard to argue against.

becuz “muh immerzion” lmao.
That hasnt existed since classic, lol.
Even classic mogs dont always appear to be the armor type they are.

Though you have to wonder just what kind of personality issues a person would have to have to literally be going around in game literally checking to see what class you are, then making sure your mogs LOOK LIKE what theyre supposed to lmao.

Dont get me started on Cosmetics…lol.
And certainly dont actually look at ‘mail’ gear inthis game that 99.9999999% of the time looks literally NOTHING like mail armor and hasnt since classic, lol.

but…“Muh Immerzion”, dont ya know lmao

Im sorry but theyre telling big fat fibs if theyre claiming that.

Go look at some of the Rogue PvP sets for god sake…they look NOTHING LIKE what a real ROGUE who is supposed to be about sneakiness and subterfuge would be caught dead in lmao.

This isnt about class, never has been. Otherwise EVERY SINGLE MOG that is plate would LOOK LIKE PLATE…there would be ZERO exceptions.

Way back in Classic you have PLATE mogs that look EXACTLY like their cloth counterparts.
I know…because I’ll wear them on my death knight on occasion just to prove the point.

all DKs in ‘plate’ armor, lmao.

Heres a PRIEST CLOTH set, lol

Seriously NOT clothy looking to me

same cloth set, different color

More cloth that looks more plate than some plate sets do…lol

MAGE CLOTH…doesnt look like cloth to me…looks like a mage in PLATE

more cloth that doesnt look like cloth

HERE IS PLATE…that looks no more plate than any of the above.

AND HERES PLATE…that looks more like mail armor, lol

guess my immersion is busted. lol

NO ONE HERE is going around checking class versus mogs and every one here KNOWS it.
Stop with this ‘muh immersion’ crap…thanks

==============================

This is “plate”…lmao… the ‘immersion’ was broken back in classic, lol

Im not Einstein but those dont LOOK like PLATE to me. lol

I 100% agree that IF they had made CLEAR distinction from the start AND been religious about it, then yeah…keep them separated.
But for god sake…someone go look at every Mail set in the game and literally make a list of Mail armor that LOOKS like Mail or even scale armor, lol.
FEW actually do. Mail armor doesnt seem to even exist in the game except in name only.
